That was a great ending!

I'm not sure about rating this at all. 3 or 3.5ish stars? This book was definitely something different.

This was enjoyable and I have no idea how to describe why. What an amazing book by an amazing writer!

Well, this was disappointing.

Relies too much on info-dumping text because the complexity of the story is too great to convey through plot.
The art is still stunning but the fight scenes are too detailed to follow properly. Everything is a bit messy when things happen quickly.
This series has been consistently good so far but still hasn't really hooked me. Maika is not exactly a fountain of emotion so it's hard for me to truly care about her. I do love Kippa though!

If this weren't s review copy, I would have DNFd this book before the 50% mark. It's been a few weeks since I read this now and it was so utterly forgettable that I've changed my previous (very generous) 2 star rating to just one star. You can add half a star in your mind for the stunning cover.

This was brilliant!!!
I can't wait to read Chiang's first collection too. But for now, there's a lot to think about. There are so many great ideas and fantastic writing here that I'll have to digest it all first.

Definitely the best of the Wayward Children novellas so far. 3.75 stars
