3.85 ⭐️ I liked this one waaayyyy more than Happy Place. The romance was cute and the characters were tolerable, dare I say I was rooting for them. However, this was not a funny story. I was kinda expecting a romcom type situation but no, pretty normal Emily Henry romance. I also kinda thought it was little too long and dragged a bit in the middle. Overall though, my second favourite Emily Henry book 2 out of 4 ain't bad
3.5 ⭐️ this was a really well written novel. I have never read a book where there was not a single male character and it was kinda nice and refreshing. I also loved the resilience of the main character and the other women of the story.
But by the end I was bored. It began to feel extremely repetitive.
3.5 stars if you are a fan of the Harry Potter movies you will love this book. If you are like me and haven't watched them all but still kinda enjoyed them, this is probably also enjoyable.
Honestly, my favourite parts of this book were the parts before and after Draco Malfoy fame. This was an ok memoir. Again, probably would have enjoyed more if I cared about the Harry Potter franchise.
3.5 ⭐️ I'm not really into romance but this was super cute. I saw some of the tv show and was interested in reading the book.
The only thing is I feel like it was too long. Could have taken out the last 20-30 pages and it still would have been good. Also, really hated the Justin storyline. It didn't really make sense and the ending scene kinda ruined it for me.
This is the LAST damn time I read a book I found off booktok!!! This was so brutal!!! Did I read the same book as everyone else or am I missing something.
Nothing redeeming or relatable about any of these characters. They were all so self involved and stupid. I could have cared less about the “romance”. The writing was confusing... was this YA or adult I have no idea. All I know is this book was not for me and I will definitely not be reading any of the other books in the series
Having just read Little women this was an interesting read. Hello Beautiful is a Little Women retelling, which I was unaware of going into it.
Overall, this was an ok book for me. It was really slow in some parts. But if you enjoyed Little Women then you might enjoy the story which focused heavily on sisters and family dynamics.
I'm gonna start with a controversial opinion!!! Molly was the most interesting and honest character of the whole book.
Hardin sucked as a character... nothing redeeming, nothing good. Honestly, can't tell if Anna Todd loves or hates Harry Styles!!! Tessa was an annoying, cheating, slut shaming, little girl. Hated them both.
Justice for pink haired snake/part-time hoe Molly!!
2.5 stars
Let's start with the good. I liked how the author didn't name the “bad guy” (although it was clear who the story was based on) of the book and instead referred to him as the Defendant. Too often with true crime we focus on the crime and the person who committed it. We give them the attention they are seeking while the victims stories are forgotten. This is very much the story of the victims and it humanized them. We saw the impacts of the crime rather than focusing on the crime/violence itself which I thought was important.
I just felt like it was slow and I was bored reading most of it. At one point I felt I could have skipped to the end and I wouldn't have missed much. I guess I was hoping for a fast paced story.
I need to know... who is recommending this book and to please STOP!!!!
A Little life was absolutely beautifully written I'll give it that and that is why it is getting 4 stars. Otherwise, this is not a book for anyone who has been through any type of trauma nor is it a book for someone who is not in a good mental space. It often felt like trauma porn which shouldn't be a thing but clearly is. Please consider your mental well-being before picking up this book.
