I think I liked this book better than the first 4.5 stars. No spice which is great. The FMC arc is stellar.

DNF It wanted to be good. I wanted to enjoy it, but there was too much going on and too many POVs involved in one book. There was too much that wasn't explained. I made it 40% through and still had no idea what was going on most of the time. There was no connection or overlap between characters. I couldn't finish it. Bookstagram really let me down on this one.

Reading this book you will find yourself as captive as the characters. No spice and filled to the brim with twists and turns, death and love, and world shattering power. Will probably reread in the future.

No spice. Good story line, but overhyped in my opinion. Still good but I won't be raving about it. Unique storyline and characters. I did enjoy the one of a kind world the author created.

No spice mystery set in the 1930s. Nancy Drew meets Sherlock Holmes. I enjoyed the intrigue and the ending was solid. Overall a decent long standing series book.
