It has the attitude of a Russian fairy-tale, with its easy assumption of magic everywhere and its casual cruelty, written with a slow, dreamy, layered style that reminds me of Patricia McKillip.
I skipped the first story, since I tried that series & didn't care for it, but I liked the other 3 stories. I think Senneth's was much more bare than her novel, though.
Good concept, adequate writing. As for whether or not it had an ending, you can scroll to the end of my review to find out. Either way, I read the book.
