2.5 stars. Don't want to click on stars & bring down the average since I'm not YA audience.

2.75ish

3.75

Most of the way through I thought I'd be giving this a 4.5, but the end slowed just enough that I'm leaving it at 4.

2.5ish More dense than I was expecting.

Loved the writing. Very rich. Bored by the story. Too much philosophizing.

Preachy. Way too preachy.

If I could add another 1/2 star, I would. I listened to an audiobook version read by James Marsters, and he was wonderful. Did a great job. I think that might be a large part of the reason why I enjoyed this book a bit more than I enjoyed the 1st Dresden book.

This book was a lot more boring than I expected.

I'm finding this book extremely hard to get into. I finally gave up, but then a couple of people I know said it's worth another try. One of them loved it. One of them really liked it, but had to force herself through the slow beginning. So, soon I will jump in again and see how it goes.
