Wow. WOW. This was insane the worldbuilding the lore the HISTORY???? It's insane how fully fleshed out this book was AND AS A DEBUT???? I love love love Rins character and the arc she goes through and the absolute SHIT she goes through!! It's so cool to see a character that you're rooting for make bad decisions /srs!!! A lotttt of the war stuff reminds me of modern day current events too, and made me reflect a lot on the world rn. I could definitely see the Chinese/japanese/general east asia Influence in the culture which was so cool but also I loved that this world was still fully its own. Like if I didn't know about east asia I would still see this as a beautiful world with its own history and stuff but it's cool to understand the undertones and Influences too. Can't wait to read the next oneeeee
I quite literally stayed up until 1 am to finish this book because Madeline millers writing style is ADDICTING
I love love love this idea of retelling mythology with a modern voice in a way? Especially characters who were poorly represented in the past!! Circe is beautiful and emotional and has so many complex themes and ideas and I just ATE THAT SHIT UP !!!! Gorgeous beautiful stunning amazing
There was a LOT of stuff going on just in the clan where I feel like a lot of it shouldn't have been in a super edition? Deaths, age ups, etc. However I did like the little story I thought it was very interesting and unique after such an amazing series with oots!! The kittypets were cute and a good way to get the bloodlines not so mixed up lmao. excited to read the next series and see what happens
God I love this book it is literally the perfect ending of this arc. The deaths are awful they make me so sad but it also feels right, yknow? Like they feel justified. There's some grammar/appearance mistakes towards the end but I can forgive it bc of all the characters involved and things happening very quickly. All in all solid book definitely one of the better warriors books I've read this year !!
The characters were really flat and at points straight up annoying lmao, the plot was fine, I know it's hard to shove/sugarcoat kinda such a long and harsh story into a kids book. The deaths were pretty brutal, they did a good job with them ngl. Really don't like clear sky and gray wings relationship? It just seems so flat and like there's barely any emotion or thought behind it. I do think turtle tail and bumble are lesbians and happy together tho I appreciate that one
The set up for the rest of the series,,, chefs kiss I used to hate jayfeather but his character development is going SO HARD and Lionblaze actually growing up and being like more mature and a role model for dove paw CRYING. The actual plot was good? But there def could've been more,, but also this is a kids book so that's okay. Mostly here for the over arching story elements they were stunning
THIS BOOK WAS SO CUTE!!!!!!!!! I love love love Lily and her story and development and all the little lesbians. I feel like there could've been more historical context? Like they brought up communism a lot but it seemed like it should've been more important but then it wasn't??? Anyway the ending was SO SAD but then it wasn't????? Which was beautiful because if they didn't get a happy ending I think I would riot. Love love love
I cried and sobbed and threw up this book changed my perspective on so many things and it was so nice to see something that I feel as a trans person shown in just a completely normal way. It felt like representation even tho it wasn't?? And I love that. Shout out to Mrs. Miska for making me read this I love you queen
