I don't usually like DC or Batman all that much. The most I've read in the past is some of 52, All-Star Superman, and the entirety of Flashpoint (great stuff!)... Oh! And some of the Starfire comic. And my first comic ever was Princess Amythyst of Gemworld.

Anywho, this Batman stuff I've been reading lately is really popping off!! I've been wanting to read this for a while but recently got it in my head to start and I'm really glad I did. This was an amazing read from beginning to end.

This part is pasted from my review of The Court of Owls: I don't usually like DC or Batman all that much. NEW:

I digress... this was just an amazing read! Most of the time with comics and graphic novels I don't even read the description. I like to go in blind. So, I did it with this as well and man this was just a REALLY good read!!! I didn't know what was coming next ever. I tried to guess what was going on the whole time and... while I initially guess correctly, there were so many twist and turns that by the end I had second... third... maybe even fourth guessed myself. I cried twice before the end, which is also crazy to say about a Batman comic for me. Anyway, I recommend this one to any lover of graphic novels.

I fucking loved this story, mostly because the sense of humor and the one liners were so incredibly spot on. The explicit stuff was just okay, but as a demisexual reader, I am mostly here for the actual dynamic anyway. The only real stumble was the massive cringe of hearing them say girlfriend and boyfriend during one of the final dirty deeds. It was just so weird and out of place, dog, but the rest of the book completely rules.

This was a slow start. I was perplexed about where this book was going almost the entire time but I kept reading and I was enthralled. I hated that Harry died. I hated that Adiel died. I still don't understand exactly what this was or why I enjoyed it so much. It's very much a slice of life in many ways. But it was good.

This was a lot different than the other volumes I've read I think and it was a slow start but I ended up really liking this one. So crazy! It was a bit hard to tell who was who.

I liked this as much as I liked the other ones. It's slice of life and I really like the characters.

It was okay. I mean I loved it and all but was very confused because it had been so long since I read the prior volume. The time stuff was a bit confusing to me too.

I think this is my favorite Junji Ito collection so far. There were so many creepy and good ones in here. They were actually all really good. I think the okly 2 I really didn't love was Clubhouse & The Bloody Story of Shirosuna. My favorite might be The Strange Tale of the Tunnel.

Took me a while to finish this, I really got into streaming and my games for a minute and was sick. Glad I got back to it. This was a really good read from Junji Ito as usual. I expect no less.

Pretty good, I definitely quickly read it. I liked the blood fruit one the most.

the first couple of pages i was a little board but i got past those and damn this was a good read. i can't wait to read more and also watch the anime.

went into this not knowing what it was about but being into dazai. i can't wait to read more of this. The last page made my mouth drop open.

i liked this one more than the anime. great start!

i love junji ito's work but this is the first one i have less than a five. i do still love it, i just think it went in too long and some of the stories were less than interesting. i do like how a lot of them were woven together.

i had no idea what this was about when i started and still kind of don't but i love it.

the art makes the story a little hard to follow but i like what i've read so far and might continue the series.

this was just as good as his other stuff. i really found it funny. and also there are memes i remember seeing in it so that was fun. all in all a good read. mostly got this one for the bonus stories but i am trying to read everything he's put out.

this shit is crazy! at some points i was a little confused and i think it ended a little soon for me but i did like the writing. good stuff!

it was okay. i spent most of the trying to remember if parts of it were in the anime or not. the funny parts were funny. stein was hot as usual. and it was overall good. the only complaint i had was some parts were too busy.

just as good as the others, it's all i can say. his work is amazing!

i loved the characters. the story was good. i kinda figured out what was going on before it was revealed. honestly, too many sex scenes, which is weird coming from me. just at silly times. overall, i liked it. also, andy did not need to die. the only thing worse would have been the dog dying which i almost thought was going to happen a few times.

i don't know if this is junji ito's earlier work or not but the art almost seems like it, which was only slightly jarring to me at first because the style was off. not bad, just different. anyways, the stories in this one are fantastic!!! really good!

this is the best collection i've read yet. wow that was a huge undertaking but i couldn't put it down. fantastic read!! so good!!!

started a bit slow but otherwise this was a great read. the only one i didn't love was the doll one. i kinda wish it was a bit longer.

another banger from junji ito. i liked this more than dissolving classroom and cat diary. a full collection of creepy stories for sure. my favorites were descent, the inn, and mold. the only one i didn't really like was smokers' club, but even that one wasn't bad.
