A dark, horrific yet true tale regarding women's experience of war. The Greek Trojan war is often male-centered, so it was refreshing to read from the perspective of Briseis - a Trojan queen captured by the Greeks. Through her eyes we see the realities of what conquest means for women and girls.
Criticisms (potential spoilers)
- I wish there were fewer Achilles POVs because I did not care for him/his feelings. He was vile in this.
- Some of the Language felt too modern for a historical novel and sometimes took me out.
