This is such a beautiful graphic novel. Not only the art is gorgeous, also the message behind this story is beautiful.
Both Cass and Megan, the main characters, were well developed by the author. They both went through character development over the course of the 256 pages. I really liked the fact that art was the main topic in this book. The overall plot and story are very good.
The art in this book is absolutely beautiful. The color schemes look amazing.
This is a quick, but beautiful read. I loved reading it.
This was such an interesting book to read! I hadn't expected to fly through a non fiction book as I did with this one. The subjects touched upon in this book were all very interesting and insightful. It really IS important to take some time off for ‘Niksening'. Mecking doesn't portray ‘Niksen' as THE solution for peace and calmness in your life, and also clearly makes sure that it doesn't always work for everyone. I really liked that, as some self help books tend to portray their methods as THE perfect solution. This wasn't the case for Niksen!
As a person living in a neighboring country of the Netherlands, and as a Dutch speaking person as well, I think I liked this book even more. I loved reading some more about the beautiful Netherlands.
I really enjoyed this book and found it to be very interesting! If you're interested in how to implement ‘niksen' into your own life, I would definitely recommend reading this book.
Thank you Netgalley and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review. This in no way affected my opinion.
This journal is absolutely so so good. Throughout reading it, I thought: “Oh, I really want to gift this book to x and y”.
Devine handles grief so well and gives a clear and supporting explanation on what you can do to cope with grief. You have to live with grief, not overcome it.
This book/journal has such a powerful message and I'll be sure to buy it for myself and some friends who have had to face with grief once it publishes!
When I say this book was an emotional hell of a ride, I mean it. The Night We Met grabbed me by the hand and led me through the life of the two main characters Daniel and Olivia.
The Night We Met tells the story of how Daniel and Olivia met, and how their lives apart and together go from that moment on. I think it is interesting that we get to read the stories of different times in their lives through different perspectives. Sometimes from the perspective of Daniel and something from the point of view of Olivia.
The story takes us from Australia to New Zealand to Milan, London, Switzerland, and so on. Reading this book feels like traveling through time and around the world.
The Night We Met is a well written, heartbreaking but oh so beautiful book.

When I saw the title and the cover of this book, I was immediately pretty sure that I really wanted to read this. A book about a dog? Yes!
The Dog Share was a cute book with a beautiful storyline in it. It focuses on family, friendship, tradition and it does so in a heartwarming way.
I love how Scout (the dog) is so loved by everyone he's surrounded with and I love how Suzy puts her all into trying to save the Sgadansay distillery.
Scout puts a feel good element into the story and always is the cheerful, connecting link between the characters. He sounds like such a lovely dog.
I loved how Sgadansay was being described and how I could form my own image of the island in my head. The descriptions really made the place come alive, which added to the story. I already dream of a trip to a place like Sgadansay.
However, I had some problems with the pacing of the story. I had a feeling the story only started to progress after reading about 55%, which seems a little late for me. The whole 55% I thought: when is the actual dog share about to happen? when will something significant happen? However, after that 55%, the story starts to progress more and more, and then I flew through it.
Overall, this is a cute and light story if you want to dream away about a beautiful island and a lovely bond between a dog and several human beings.

Although I did know most things stated in this book already, I still found it to be a useful guide in my quest to investing more in self care. It mentions a lot of ways to practice self care, from 5 minute self care activities to a half day of self care activities. I thought this was a very nicely illustrated book and it is surely a great start if you want to start investing in self care!
This was a fun and quick holiday novella. Both characters were very likeable in my opinion and I was absorbed into their lives rather quickly. It contains lots of humor, which is why I literally laughed throughout nearly the whole book. The chemistry between Yuki and Declan was quickly undeniable. This was a very nice read.

sometimes i fall asleep thinking about you touched me to the deepest core of my heart. It has been a very long time (or perhaps the first time) that a poetry book could touch me like that. It really made me emotional and feel the pain through the words, and I think that's really special. The words hit so hard, which makes it painful but beautiful all at once.
This is definitely one of my new favorite poetry books!
Here is one of my favorite poems:
SELF-REFLECTION:
i wanted us to work so badly because you made me into the worst
version of myself. and i wanted that to be worth it.
i needed it to be.

4,5 stars.
TW: mention of suicide, substance abuse, toxic parents, death
I did not expect this book to be this hell of an emotional read when I first started reading it. This story really has my heart. All the characters had their own flaws and that was reflected beautifully into this story. This is the first book that made me cry in quite a while.
It's beautiful to see how the main character - Hazel - tries to pull herself together piece by piece. Near the end, you really see her development, which she deserves.
The friendship between all the band members is so magical. It warmed my heart. I got so invested in the lives of all the characters so quickly. My heart hurt for them several times.

This was a real inspiring and motivational book to read. It is a quick read to get started on achieving your goals. The idea behind this book is to transform your goals and tasks into quests. As I thought of my goals and tasks and imagined them as being quests, I immediately felt more motivated to start doing something about them. I'm sure I will turn back to this guide several more times in the future. It was really motivational and informing.
My only remark is that I wished it were a bit longer. It is a quick and accessible read now with its 27 pages, but I would've loved to read about some things in more depth than it was now.
Overall I was really inspired by this book and I recommend reading this if you're looking for motivation to achieve your goals and tasks!
Thank you to the author Morgan Addison for providing me a free arc in exchange for an honest review. This has in no way affected my review.
When I first read the synopsis, I was determined that I would need to read this book:
- Friends to lovers? Check!
- Fake dating? Check!
- One of the main characters being a huge book lover? Check!
The above elements are ingredients for what could make a good book, in my opinion and it indeed was! I love the character development of Aaron and Alice so much.
The fact that this story was told through both Aaron's and Alice's point of view, really added to the story and put more depth in it. It was interesting to see both Aaron's and Alice's view on events.
I flew through this book and read it within 24 hours (while being in the middle of my exams, whelp!). So if you're looking for a quick romance read, this might be the book for you! It ended up being one of my favorite books of 2020.

Having been suffering from a reading slump again, I didn't expect to fly through this book as I did. This book has definitely gotten me out of my reading slump.
As cliché and actually unrealistic as this story was at times, it was so heartwarming most of the times and although it is about the lockdown situation and COVID-19, I could really dream away with it. It contains such a positive message and warmed my heart. The praise to essential workers is really heartwarming and it's lovely that it is highlighted so much in this story. Aswell as the attention to people helping people.
Jack and Sophia are such loveable characters, aswell as all the side characters. They all have their quirks and it is all worked out so well into the story.
I'm sad the ending was quite abrupt, as I would've loved hearing more about Jack and Sophia after the lockdown situation.
Overall, Chloe James did an amazing job creating such a beautiful story out of such a bizarre situation.
Thank you NetGalley and Avon Books UK for the opportunity to review this book.
“Feminisms” gave me a lot of new insights on the global history of feminism. At times I felt quite overwhelmed with information as this book contains a lot of it, but reading it with some breaks in between really helped keeping it interesting!
The book kind of reads like a textbook, so it's harder to really delve into, but nevertheless it is really interesting!
