This one’s a little tough for me to rate. I liked it, just not as much as the first two. The pacing felt a bit slow in the beginning, it dragged a little for me, but things definitely picked up toward the end. That ending? Jaw dropping. I’m still fully invested in the series and can’t wait to see what happens in book 4!

My first lit fic book, and I really enjoyed it! It’s a slow burn, character driven story set in Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood. It follows four sisters and a man named William over a few decades as they navigate love, grief, tragedy, and family drama. There was one moment between the sisters that didn’t sit right with me. It didn’t take away from this beautifully written story, I just didn’t like it personally. Overall, it was a powerful, emotional read. Definitely recommend!

This was a great short story that left me wanting more. Sadeqa Johnson delivers every time, and this one was no different. A quick 1 hour read, but so powerful I wished it were longer!
