This was strange. The Stockholm syndrome is throwing me out. There was a plot twist that I was expecting towards the end. I know the rest of the series is supposed to be much better than this, so I'll keep going.

This book is precious. It is beautiful, sad, surprisingly accurate. It's a story of family, rebellion, hardships. A story of survivors, about what destroys us and what keeps us together. And love.

This was very good. Jane Harper paints such a precise, compelling picture. You can feel the dry heat and taste the desperation. All the characters and their flaws felt real and raw. I did not see the ending coming which is always nice

Beautiful easy romance with a really great depiction of anxiety and what overthinking sounds like. I love a good fake dating trope, but I wish they had communicated earlier on. Little details like the swearing parrots made this a great, fun read.

This book is so beautiful, intimate and raw. The writing style is unconventional (apparently that's typical form Olivie Blake?) but reflects the turmoil inside the character's heads.

This was so good. Definitely dark (at least for me). The academia setting was perfect and mysterious, the plot was gripping, it was the right amount of 🌶️ (not a lot in quantity but... Oh boy!). The audio was absolutely flawless!!!

I loved getting swept up in this magical, whimsical universe full of curses and intrigue.

A fun read! Well written, and did not go where I expected it to

I really loved this book. There were twists I didn't expect, the FMC, albeit annoying at times, had some good character development. Yes there were some clichés moment and tropes of the genre but I don't care I still enjoyed them!
I'm keen to read the next book!

Beautifully written, unique and whimsical.

Could not getting into the story because it felt so teenagey, also the fact that they're 16 - based on other things I know happen, I didn't think I would gel with the story
