While it's not my favorite story in the series, I still like Georgia and Leo (and the rest of the Bruisers :) ), and I loved seeing them get their second chance. I thoroughly enjoy the world Sarina Bowen has created with the Brooklyn Bruisers “family” (I love all the stories in this series I've read so far), and I especially loved the solid friendship between Georgia and Becca.
I am not reading the series in publishing order, but the stories work pretty well as standalones - though it's fun to not only reconnect with some of my favorite Ivy Years characters (hello, Lianne and DJ!), but also get glimpses of what's to come later in the series.
Light and fluffy read, fun story - I thoroughly enjoyed it!
While I sometimes felt a bit exasperated with Summer, I can still understand where she's coming from.
Bonus points for Graham being a likeable geek and neither a model of perfection (maybe besides his looks ;-) ) nor an absolute douche-bag (AKA “alpha male” ;-p ).
Summer's parents were hilarious, and there were a couple of laugh-out-loud moments.
I really like Ms. Labonte's writing, and I'm happy to see that there is a sequel!
Since I have been on the geek-nerd-dork spectrum pretty much all my life, this story absolutely hit the spot.
Zoe's yearning to “just fit in” felt all too real, as did her struggle to overcome her fears. Zak was the perfect counterpart for her (and now I wish there had been someone like him around when I grew up... Ah, well...).
I loved the less-than-perfect, but all the more realistic and (in some cases) more loveable characters - both Zoe and Zak, as well as their families and (some of their) friends.
This was the first book by this author that I've read, but it won't be my last. I am looking forward to reading more in the series, especially since book #2 is Sierra and Levi's story.
So sorry to see this series come to an end, but it did go out with a big badaboom!
My favourite book in the series, as the characters have grown (up) a lot over the course of the stories.
