See allWhile I appreciated the depth of the story, I found it to be quite a lengthy read. The development of the characters was intricate, and as a result, I now feel a strong aversion towards Nikhilesh (though I won't delve into spoilers). That said, I don't consider myself in any position to critique Rabindranath Tagore's genius. However, I would like to share my experience with the translation.
The translation, in my opinion, did not fully capture the essence of Tagore's original work. It often felt mechanical, lacking the improvisation or reorganization of words that could have helped maintain the flow and keep the original spirit of the narrative. Perhaps this issue is due to my limited ability to appreciate literature, or it could be a reflection of the translation practices of that era. Either way, I found the translation did not do justice to the brilliance of Tagore's writing.
