I Like Door of perception. He write beautifully on his use of Mescalin. The second book was slow though I do love his thoughts on shiny things and the other world.

Reads like a long short story. There were a lot of fun ideas. There where also aspects of Prince Ruby's development that felt forced and unrealistic. Vocq on the other hand was the Ahab that we all wished for.
Got about halfway through before I realized that I wasn't going to start liking the character. A very plot-driven book. The setting started out interesting but turned a little cliche.
