it's between 3.75 and 4 stars but rounding up. Im really glad I got to read this. It seemed like every time I picked this up I just wanted to keep reading and wanted to know what would happen. It did read slightly YA to me at times and some of the things that happened toward the end seemed to happen just out of convenience instead of with any substance/conflict/depth (if that makes sense). Overall a really cool story, nothing like I've read before (Im not a really big fantasy reader anyway), so, I think it's a great beginner fantasy read.
Wow! The characters GO. THROUGH. IT! It was a whirlwind of emotions and events maybe in correlation to the Hokusai wave? Meh, I suck at literary analysis but I really enjoyed this. Every time I picked it up I could not stop reading. It was hard for me to put it down. I teared up twice maybe but didn't cry! Proud of myself but I wish I had
3.5 - quick easy listen... was it impactful ? Ehhh, might be stretching it. Was it a good story? Yes, the narrator was an actual character herself so it framed the story really well. Were the characters good? For the most part yes. I didn't think Billie and Daisy had as much chemistry as we were led to believe but I'm glad they were able to work their ish out without regretting anything. Camilla shined most for me if I'm completely honest
3.5 - 4 if I'm being generous because the ending picked up pretty well (but not really lol) I listened to this majority on audio because I didn't have time to sit down and read it physically and I'm glad I did. Reading it physically just seemed too wordy for me but I reallyyy wanted to read this story! Not too sure if ill re-read it to give it another shot. I'll most likely pick up Hell Bent on audio but I'm not really dying to read it.
