The lost Sigler finally surfaces! It seemed only a matter of time, appropriate pun intended.
Every page the frenetic rampaging adventure of a Robinson Chess Team novel, the mystery behind book #8 will keep you guessing right through the last chapter. Sigler family secrets are laid bare and a new adversary takes the spotlight.
Bring on book #9. I can't wait!
70 years of alien abduction stories are finally explained for the few survivors left after the world's population literally turns to dust. This is another outstanding and original tale from Jeremy Robinson, this time in collaboration with his wife, Hilaree. The story shines as a thrilling and unique blend of apocalypse/abduction sci-fi.
I was a little on the fence for the first chapter or two. The flying airships were just a little to fantastical for me. But I gave it another hour. And in true Jim Butcher fashion, the book took off and captured my attention as well as my imagination. From that point I became captivated. By the end of the book, I knew I had new series to enjoy for years to come.
Ready to cheer for the bad guy? Meet Ajax Clean, the guy who cleans up when the underworld dirty work is finished. He might work for the bad guys but he's not so bad himself. You just need to get to know him. Just one word of warning—don't mess with his friends. By the end of this book, your mouth will be watering for the next in the series.
Another amazing “every man” thriller from Joe Finder! What would a normal guy do after making an amazing discovery hidden in his long abandoned family home? Well, if the guy is a bit of a screw up in the first place, odds are he's going to get himself into some trouble before he sorts out what's going on. Then he'll have to get his act together and try to sort things out. But can he do it before he's in too deep? Probably not. That's not how life works. At least not the lives of people worth reading about. Thankfully, Mr. Finder constantly delivers novels that are as plausible as they are entertaining. Each one an energetic adventure and frenetic thrill ride. The Fixer is no exception. This is another compelling book that is nearly impossible to put down. I found myself reading long after I should have gone to bed. The ultimate compliment, in my experience.
This is book #10 in the series and a truly outstanding release. Over the course of the first 9 books, David Golemon created characters his readers feel at home with. With the Mountain, he mixes things up in new and interesting ways. Much of the book takes place in the past—pre-Event Group. Historic characters, during the time of the American Civil War, are explored for much of the book. It gives Golemon a chance to introduce some powerful and dynamic new characters while teaching readers things we never knew about the present day Event Group. The experience is well conceived, skillfully executed, and results in an exceptional tenth book in the series.
Fans of the series will love The Mountain. Alternatively, readers who are new to the series could easily begin reading with book #10. That's unusual for a series of books with so much history already committed to paper.
This was a cool espionage thriller set in the Cold War era/Reagan administration. It was a time when technologies we take for granted today, such as consumer grade GPS navigation and cell phones were only a futuristic promises. This was a refreshing new story predating the war on terror and a look back at the days when communism was the threat, and not religious extremists. All of this made for an enjoyable and book, and something I would highly recommend.
Another outstanding thriller from Joe Finder! A father in over his head, dealing with debt, the loss of his ex-wife, and a teenage daughter who has the sensibilities of a teenage girl. When Danny Goodman has someone finally throw him a lifeline, he knows he shouldn't accept it. But its a deal he can't refuse. The consequences of the transaction aren't worth $50,000 to a father just trying to get by...and they put Danny to the test. This is a thriller with plenty of suspense, and one hell of a book!
