Following the tragic turn of events in the final chapters I really think this was a good follow up
It may not have been as daring as the first book but I really liked how well things tied up in. Preparation for the righteous.... Bastien oh my sweet summer child I hope things work out well for you and Celine.... Good read thoroughly enjoyed it ✅
This book greatly reminds me of the originals... Incredible storyline from renée yet again
Her books are so engaging... I found it impossible to drop this book unless I was extremely tired or Busy..
So right to it... I loved the main character a lot, the development from being enclosed and uncaring to opening up to bastien and odette and other around her really resonated with me
I can't wait to read the second book... Renée never fails to impress me... Outstanding yet again
it ended with a warnette wedding that alone is enough for me
though i may not agree with how she chose to kill Anderson ...i felt that it should've been aaron at the end of the gun not someone else . either way i'm glad that the children of the Supremes got to live the lives they always dreamed of

OMFG.....how she managed to top the wrath and the dawn is something I can't truly grasp
The development of Khalid towards others who he should've skinned alive at first sight ...I fucking loved it
Shahrzad.... My angel ...loml...she deserves the entire world and she got it her bravery always appealed to me
Last but not the least Rahim, Tariq and despina .... I'm really glad Renée added immensely tot their characters
In summary I'm grateful to Renée for creating these characters what a book and that ending chef's kiss
To put into words how exotic this book is would be impossible
I haven't felt this satisfied by a book since the last Olympian and six of crows
I honestly can't tell you one thing about this book I hate

Renee Ahdieh has a fan for life ... I'm beyond impressed by this book
I can say with confidence that Sabaa is one of the best fantasy writers in the game
Her world building is sensational and how she's not afraid to take risks with her characters ...taking them out of their bubble and putting them in impossible situations like you would expect would happen during war times
Her writing style is extremely good and the pacing in her books is great I can hardly pick out a moment in which I felt bored or tired
Last but not least this book series deserves the hype that y'all give to mediocre series from popular authors ( I wont call names )
Sabaa Tahir has a fan for life .... I'm truly impressed cos after the last book I truly felt she couldn't top this and she did immensely ... a top 5 read of the year ...surely

It genuinely improves in the prequel and then the additional characters are play such important roles you can't but hope they actually have a connection to the sequel to this one

that Helene doesn't have to deal with any more death to her loved ones ... shes so strong and intelligent and the fact that she could discover so much without having a lot of people to trust proves how resourceful she can be .... I look forward to a reaper at the gates
