what a great first read of the year!

more disturbing than I thought it would be. It really dived into the horrors of surviving a school shooting. It does go into detail of the event which is going to give me nightmares tonight but I liked how much detail it went into!
Truly a disturbing read and it makes my heart hurt for all victims who have been killed and had their life cut short while at a place they felt safe at.

I didn't like some characters, they kind of took me out of the story a bit. I didn't like all the coincidences, it just wasn't realistic. I didn't like the romance but I loved the asexual rep!

I really wish I liked this trilogy but it was a torturous experience.
All the characters were bland, yes even the returning characters from the authors other series who I loved.

This trilogy relies heavily on characters. Characters 1st, plot and story second. So if someone didn't like the characters then is the story enjoyable at all since the characters and their relationships are always there?

I would recommend this to everyone because I feel like a lot of people would enjoy this.. it just wasn't for me unfortunately

its nice knowing how someones love life goes on during a world war that affects their whole life but there was way too much romance, I would've liked more war focused chapters.

Went into this thinking I would love it because of how the book was described but its kinda misleading, I really didn't know it would be this romance heavy

3.75 stars :)

Sarah Dessen never disappoints! I love reading her books because they put me in such a happy mood but her books always have such a sad story in them, my emotions are all over the place when reading them haha

My least favourite Dessen book but it still amaaaaazing!

I didn't know what this book was about before reading it but it hit a little too close to what we are all going through now. A deadly virus, masks, quarantine, corrupt police.

I wish I liked this book but too many things were happening in it and some stuff didn't make sense and the characters were all very unrealistic

Also didn't like the way the author described a 13 year old girl. Gross.

I think I would like this more if I experienced being an adult a bit longer. I'm only 21 and this book made me feel like I was 13.

The writing confused me at times, and there was a chunk near the end where the story kind of got blurry?
I liked the book, I love reading about the ups and downs of a relationship but the writing really threw me off multiple times.

I'll come back to this when I'm way older!

update; randomly read this again and enjoyed it just as much as the first time

The story had me hooked even though the storyline wasn't that interesting to me.
The characters felt so real which is hard to do in a book that's 200 pages!

Finished this last night but I wanted time to think about this before I reviewed it.

So I love dark books and this was dark! I didn't like the romance and it was a needed aspect of the book so I'm fine with it. Just didn't like the instalove or her love interest. Her love interest was kind of like the men in the book that she didn't like so I'm a bit confused about that.

The story had me hooked and I liked the ending to an extent, I'm just happy the ending didn't go where I didn't want it to go because it sure looked like it was heading there

I loooooved the acting and this makes me excited to read it in book form!

I read the word ā€œnipplesā€ in this book more than I have read it in a harry styles fan fiction.
crazy.

It was a solid story but its a shame the characters (except for Oliver!) were horrible people!
Saoirse is a moody teen but she crossed a line.. many times. Like, who is mean to an old man for no reason? Who yells at someone who is about to walk down the aisle at their wedding?

kept me super entertained! first book in a while that had me hooked :)

why did she keep hitting the nae nae though, I mean I do it ironically while cooking but this girl hit the nae nae like its 2015 still

it started really amazing and I could ignore the major plotholes but it went the only way I didn't want it to go in.. so yeah :/

well that was depressing..

SPOILERS

this is just like bridge to terabithia all over again.. HOW ARE YOU GOING TO KILL OFF A LITTLE KID???
my heart can't take that
I was waiting until they ran into her again after years at the end but nooooo, she's just 6ft under

I like the character development of the toad.

My favourite book of all time is Stolen by Lucy Christopher which is about a kidnapping and after I read that in 2014 (and every year afterwards) ive been addicted to kidnapping stories as they really intrigue me. I love knowing what the kidnappees mind is like during being held captive and life afterwards. I love knowing why the kidnapper did what they did.
Ive read a million kidnapping stories and this has to be in the top 3.

Spoilers but not really? ahead!!

The ending kinda.. yeah im gonna forget that happened.

I was recommended this online book by a mutual on IG and im glad I read it! its an interactive book so I'm happy with the choices I made in it :)

It was good! Some chapters were super disturbing and it made me not be able to read this at night lol

one of the worst books I have ever read :/

one of the best books ive ever read.
I'll miss these characters so much :(((

I'm free!!! Worst experience of my life!!!

this got hit hard by the second book syndrome and it was so bad that I don't think i'll ever look at the 3rd book

it would be one star but some things in the story did shock me and it deserves a star for making me gasp like once

3.75 stars!

better than the first book!

one of the best books ive read in a while. The characters felt so real even though this book is short and written in verse. The book is really depressing and its made me think a lot and books that make you think are the best kind of books
