Great writing and I love how well I got to knew the characters but the main character annoyed me so much.
I can't wait to read this authors other book!

1 Star... I can't believe I rated this 4 stars when I first read it!
I've grown quite a bit and realised that this story isn't as good as I used to think it was. Damn.
I would've loved to enjoy it again :((

My first Adam silvera book and I loved it!

This is the only good John green book and it deserves all the hype. Just as good the second time around!

I was ready to rate this 5 stars but the last 70 or so pages weren't great. I hated the ending, it was so rushed and stupid.

This was my first Stephen King novel and I'm happy it was because his writing style is amazing. I cant wait to read more of his books!

Just a little upset about that ending though :/

would've been 5 stars but Sarah J Maas' hornyness ruins a lot for me. No sex actually happened but cmon, who tries to have sex after they both died like 20 minutes before?

Nearly made me cry :(((

I love books set in wwII but none of those books were as raw and detailed as this book.
It went into such detail that I felt so sick and a little bit nauseous but I'm glad it did.
It needs to be detailed because recently I've seen our generation kind of brush of the holocaust as just a school subject.
When I was in high school, I switched schools every year. In year 7, we learnt about the holocaust and then I switched schools and year 8, we learn about the holocaust and so on. I learnt about the holocaust every year for 5 years because of pure coincidence but that made me passionate about history and I excelled in school work when it came to world war II but it also made me realise how copy and paste schools are. Each year for 5 years, I had to learn the same thing, the EXACT same thing. There are 4 terms in a year and in history class, we learnt 4 history subjects a year so we learnt the holocaust for a term but somehow it never went into detail. ever.
They never went into any detail of the sufferers, which I feel like is the most important thing to learn about to make sure this never happens again.
‘they were gassed' ‘they starved' ‘pit of bodies' yes that is horrible but students need to know more than that so they can really learn and feel something. The school system needs to go into detail into how these poor people lived whether it was in camps, their own houses or escapees.
All teachers kept repeating is that millions of people died which just shocks kids with the huge number but I think to make these kids feel something, mention how they were killed, how they were separated from their families, the torture, the forced labour.
Idk I'm just so upset that people now days don't remember the victims of the holocaust.

What did I just read???? Kinda stupid and a waste of time but also kind of addictive?
This was my first Lauren Oliver book :( (I think?)

I decided to re-read this again after reading it in 2014 (maybe 2015?) and I hated it, again.

I love the show..controversial but I think the show did well in showing how raw and painful life is.

Sorry to the library security guard who walked behind me when the book was open on a very graphic sex scene and started walking faster

Weird... I was never supposed to read this book because of how bad the first two were but here I am and I loved it. I don't know what to think of this series anymore, I just hope the next book is as good as this one

In 2014, I rated this book one star. I truly did not see what everyone liked about this book and I hated it. I was 15 at the time and was the same age as the main character but didn't relate to him at all.

In 2020, I decided to re-read this book because I feel like I could relate to the main character more at age 20 and a half then I did at 15. It made me think back to my school days and my childhood trauma and this book made me so sad. To say I had traumatic teen years would be an understatement and this book just brought everything back to me.

New rating: 2.75 stars

lower your pitchforks, this book was just not for me.

I started reading this in 2016... it took me 4 years to read

The most addicting read ever. I couldn't put it down.
Oh and revenge stories are my absolute favourites so I just knew I would like this book

3.75 stars.

Would've been a solid 4.5 stars if it didnt have the unrealistic and unnecessary instalove

2nd re-read better than the 1st. I'm so in love with this series and I need to read them again!

This book tried too hard at being like every other dystopian.

It took major inspo from The hunger games, Divergent and... every other dystopian book out there.
BUT it stole the name people involved in the movements were called from The Last of us game, Fireflies but its not a big deal, this book wasn't about zombies even though I've read the word Zombies in this more than ive read in an actual zombie book. Also pre-order The Last Of Us 2 if you have a heart.

Instalove. Cant stand it. This was the fastest instalove ive ever seen and it made me throw up in my mouth.
Instafamily. When a character gets loved by their lovers family too quickly. Her boyfriends dad met her and risked his whole life for her the next day, his 10 year old sister risked her life for her. Instafamily, never talked about but it should be.

But... this book was addicting and fast paced. Not the best plot and way too unrealistic (yes even for a dystopian)

I first read this in 2020 and rated it 1 star and my review was the words: “never again”

Well I read it again because I wanted to give it a second chance, especially since I was in a better state of mind and wow yeah it's a solid 3.5 stars for me.

Daisy annoyed me to no end but I loved how unique each character is and now I can't wait to read Malibu rising lol

Its been quite a while since I read a book in a day. This book was just so addicting.

I don't suffer from bad agoraphobia, I can leave the house but only if all my skin if covered and only if its not too sunny (I live Australia so its always sunny)
If I don't cover my skin, or if its too sunny, I'll be inconsolable. I have to cancel doctors appointments all the time because the sun is out. My fear of the sun is keeping me inside.
Ive been diagnosed with agoraphobia, and I have been getting worse with it, but I don't have it a bad as some do, like Solomon from this book.

One of the toughest books to read because of the subject matter: rape.
This book doesn't whisper that it's about rape. It tells you like it is, rape is a terrible crime and shouldn't be avoided in conversations.
People can't say the word rape when talking about it. Just say it and acknowledge that it happens.

way better than the first book

also why did nick cut his hair, v v upset

Nothing happened in this book and the plot twist was very predictable. I kinda enjoyed it though, it's boring but I was somehow entertained. By what? I don't even know.
I was excited to read another Nina Lacour book but it didn't live up to how good Everything Leads To You (her other book) was.

Btw I'm lucky I read Jane eyre because this book has tiny Jane eyre spoilers everywhere so warning for that lol

the ending was extremely rushed and I need a 3rd book please

the writing style kinda ruined it for me but its translated so of course it might be a bit weird.
I love Holocaust stories (especially true stories) bc I'm a history lover but I didn't enjoy this book as much. :(
