Terry Brooks insisted he didn't draw from The Lord of the Rings for this novel. Well, dude, you kinda did. It's pretty easy to spot clones of the Nazgul, Gollum, the siege of Minas Tirith, and other major plot points from LOTR in this book. Still an enjoyable read, though.
