I delayed reading The Thursday Murder Club because Osmond is a celebrity in Britain. I assumed he only got published due to his status and therefore it would be poorly written. As time went on, and I heard reviewers talk positively about it and give it a fair review. I decided to read it as it came up on audiobook in my library's app.

Was I unfair towards Osmond? Yes, this is actually a well written book with realistic characters and an attention grabbing plot. I do, however, think it would not have been as popular if written by an unknown author. This is Osmond's first novel, and I look forward to him developing his craft.
