The interesting characters and their interactions with each other are the best part of this book. And it's nice to have a mystery that does not entail some gruesome killing.

Another great read in the series. Characters continue to be good, new and interesting characters added, story line moves along without too much sidetracking, and I didn't figure out the mystery until just before the reveal.

Incredibly rich world building, alot of aliens to consider but the main characters are not what I would consider hanging out with and the situation is pretty bleak; even dark and gruesome at times.

I don't think I'll be continuing in the series.

Consistently with the prior four books with interesting plot and science, surprises, interesting characters, story, and movement. I did find it hard to keep the alien races separated towards then end when they were all in the chapter together.

This was my second attempt to read this book this year and neither time did I make it past 25% complete. I just couldn't get interested in the characters or the storyline.

The author continues to d a great job of world building.
