This has become one of my favorite series. Din and Ana are such a pair!
Ana, with all her oddness, tries to communicate with Din, and he's learning to understand her.

Now, about the plot/case. It was a fun / interesting one, and the author was fair to the reader, all clues to solve the mystery were presented to the reader, and I appreciated that. I figured a few things out using the clues and information, which made the experience more fun.
The magic system resembling science / alchemy is my favorite type. I'd love to find more fantasy books with these kinds of magic systems.

The growth the characters go through, especially Misaki, was portrayed in such natural way you only realize it when they do.

This is not a masterpiece of the mystery genre, but it's a fast read and extremely entertaining. I read it in two sittings.

The story is good, but uneven. It started great but the instalove almost ruined it. Thankfully the book recovered in the third part and ended up being a nice adventure.
There were too many almost ending scenes, it got a little boring.

Don't think there's anything wrong with this book, it just wasn't the book for me.

This book was difficult to read at times, too real and painful.

This was more contemporary/family drama than mystery. I liked the writing and the story telling.

This was such a fun read. I can't wait to read the second book.

That was an easy 5⭐. Great writing that kept me interested and engaged. Listened to the audiobook in two days.
Warning: this is a mystery with some thrilling moments, not a full on thriller.

This book has a well thought and planned plot twist.

The writing of M. L. Rio continues to be fantastic. I need to think about the story some more. It's really hard to define the genre, though.

That was a quite interesting take at a post apocalyptic world, especially one doomed by a murder.

Maybe I'm being too harsh, but the last chapter made this book drop from 5 to 4 stars for me.  The ending was surprising but disappointing.

This is a entertaining 5. A thriller delivering the thrills, twists and turns until the last line.

The main male character is one of the most stupid and selfish characters I've ever encountered in a book.

I consider this book an easy read. I picked the themes quickly, and figured some of its mysteries and twists.
The writing has a good flow that makes it easy to read and the main characters are what they're supposed to be.

It could be a 4 star book, but I can't pass behind a plot hole/misshap that, to me, messes up a crucial part of the story.
So, halfway through the book, Val answers the guy's phone and that's the ranch lady, asking where she is, telling her she has the money and new documents so she can start a new life anywhere - as someone new. Tell her to not tell anyone/not trust anyone looking for her. All good and well. BUT.She was the one who exposed Val in the first place when she put the announcement about Val's Dad passing and the funeral on Facebook. She was the one who told Val to relax, that they were no longer in danger. The author used this to start the story and completely forgot about it.
The editor didn't notice or didn't care, probably thought readers wouldn't care.
Most people probably won't, but sadly I did 😔.

I had so much fun reading this book and I loved how the information about the cases and about our cast of characters was being slowly being revealed.
For me it was a perfect and addictive pace, I couldn't put it down.

The story was okay, the mistery was predictable but interesting to follow.
The one thing that annoyed me was the already overused trope “the Literature person who only reads Shakespeare being even more overused.

I'm giving it a 3.5 because it was an entertaining fairytale and I'm not its audience. The problems were solved too easily and unrealistically but I think everybody deserves some escapism from this crazy world.

The last page. My jaw dropped.

But the book is so much more than one shocking last scene.

Confessions is tricky. It builds its spiderweb so carefully that you don't really notice it closing on you until it's too late. It is an amazing ride, a thrilling reading experience.
I can't recommend this book enough.

It's almost a five star for me but it didn't reach the perfect rating.

It's more like a 2.5 stars but I'll settle with 3.
There were good parts, but others were so uninportant. This is a very heteronormative story with some well known clichés. There are also a few questionable scenes.
It was a good premise. The ending is also a good premise for a book. All in all it was underwhelming experience.
