I actually don't really like voo doo stories, but this really did continue the nostalgic, relaxing feel of this series. This was was finished by a different author after Bellairs' death, but I don't think it feels written by someone else.

I enjoyed this one, but I think I liked The Family Remains better. I'm glad I read that one first. Henry is just really getting his voice by the end of this one. Having said that, I wasn't bored and always wanted to keep reading.

Just as delightful reading it now as when I was a kid.

I enjoyed this much more than We Have Always Lived in the Castle. I was surprised at how much of it is not about a Haunted House. There is a lot about setting off on your own for the first time and beautiful descriptions of idyllic scenes. It's much more psychological than horror.

This book made me laugh out loud. I feel like I would have loved this book more if I had read it as a kid though. There were some parts I just wanted to get through. You can definitely see the influence either from or to Doctor Who.

I liked this - it had funny dialogue. The characters are also distinct. There is something about it that I didn't like as much but I can't put my finger on it. The story was interesting and I feel like this one probably sets up the next one quite well.

Very Agatha Christie-esque mystery. What you would expect from JK Rowling - someone we know can write - but adult. I was invested in the story and characters, and I didn't think the particulars were blatantly obvious. I would definitely read the next book.

Giving it three stars for creativity, but it really belongs more on buzzfeed. I think it's loosely related to another book series of the author, but the excerpt given was fanfic at best.

I thought this was slow starting but then got me back into the world. I liked the new characters and how in the end everyone overcame their differences and changed for the better. It was nice to read something uplifting for a change.

A delightful collection of stories about River Song by different authors. They get her voice & humor down very well and it was an enjoyable quick read.

It was annoying that the author messed up the titles he used in a couple places, and there was too much telling instead of showing. But it was a good enough light read.

Enjoyable short story - my only complaint is how quickly the characters believe what is happening to them is real, but the author didn't really have the luxury of drawing it out. I liked both the characters and the storyline.

I thought this was pretty good - I didn't work it out until the end and I stayed interested in figuring it out.

I liked this book - the main character is a little stodgy but otherwise a good story.
