I initially DNF'd it with a physical book but decided to give it another try with an audiobook. I was so disappointed in myself that I didn't finish this at first and sold the copy 😭 now I want it back. 
This was so much better than I anticipated!!! I absolutely loved Jess's internal monologues and how everything seems to come together at the end. There were a lot of twists along the way, it kept me on a tight leash. I know it's freaky at first ~20% but trust me, it will all make sense. Heading to another book of the author next lol

Neverending twists! It was like an onion peeling layer after layer. I also like that Lottie wasn't the typical type of psychopath with traumatic past that had to end up a serial killer, but rather a quite regular person (I might have to air quote the word regular here but as regular as a serial killer can be!)
It was an entertaining read for sure but after a second thought I think it lacked some sustenance so I'm deducting a quarter ⭐.

I think I'm kind of hooked to the series. It's a very well done cozy and hilarious crime fiction. I was able to connect with the characters and wish I could've known Elizabeth and Abraham in real life! 
One complaint is that there was a long winding way to the finale and I lost track of characters mentioned and was confused with the ending. I had to go back to the front part to remind myself who was who. 

It was like a mashup of all the popular YA books and I can't say anything was original but I did enjoy the banter between characters and it scores high on entertainment imo. Might continue with the series.

I haven't been obsessed with a book like this for awhile. I know it wasn't the most original story or unpredictable but I was entranced no matter what. Heading straight to another book by this author 🫶🏻

I think the book was entertaining enough for me to continue with the series but won't say anything is groundbreaking!

I haven't read a romantasy series this fast after ACOTAR. I seriously loved the series and can't wait for the next book to drop. There is so much depth to character building and again, I love each and every character and their banter 🫶🏻 I'm now going to read the author's other series...

I loved this book! I was honestly tired of romantasy and all the same tropes/storylines but this one was refreshing and really hooked me in. I love how the author delved into the emotional connection main characters form. Also the banter is hilarious not just in-between main characters but with side characters as well. 

I love the magical system but I can do this series without the romance part or is it just me 🫠

V. E. Schwab does not disappoint 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I honestly went in blind and didn't even realize it was a vampire novel but I'm glad I didn't know bc I might not have picked this up! I was enthralled the whole time and it unfolded the way I never imaged it would. 

Still great series but I can live without the romance part 🤷🏻‍♀️

Very mysterious. I've never read an horror genre like this and I usually stay far away from them but this was so unique, it mesmerized me right away. All about the vibes.

Disappointing 😞 someone said that this was “seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo” done badly and I agree...

I've heard a lot of mixed reviews but it's actually pretty good!

Love a good funny cozy mystery novel! I can totally see this as a movie.

I loved the premise of the book and how it was unfolding at the beginning and the mysteriousness of it all but I'm not quite sure if I liked it as a whole. It slightly missed the mark for me at the end.

Can't wait for the next book! Rachel Gallig does not disappoint.

Books like this is the reason why I have to read.

So cute! I think the second book seems a little older romance than the first book which totally felt like YA. I've had a similar experience with my best friends in middle school so although that was a long time ago, I found this a but more relevant. It's a cozy romance that I wouldn't mind reading again. 

I was so confused at the end. I don't know what kept me continue reading but I liked the mysteriousness around their friendship. Nothing significant really happened up until 2/3 of the book and I was so confused. I'm still confused lol
