Most honest and informative book I have read for the newbie wannabe indie author. Gaughran's resources are limitless, his advice timeless. I greatly appreciate his efforts to help self-published authors be successful without charging more than $4.99 for the advice.

Other than the first story, The Force, (which seems a bit out of place with the other five stories as it reads more like a screenplay with plenty of chases, physical abuse, and a whole less context) — Winslow's collection of six novellas is right up there as one of my favorite all-time books. The other five novellas read like the authors and actor he's dedicated them to: Steve McQueen, Raymond Chandler, and Elmore Leonard. If you prefer literary mystery with a flavor of mainstream — read Broken.
