I gave up on this book. It's not because of the weird formatting and some of the footnotes that have zero meaning or are just a list of made up names. It's because I went in thinking this is a horror/mystery book, and it kinda failed to connect with me there. I read most of the book but I don't see how the last few pages are gonna magically make this book more interesting to me. Some of the potentially good moments are ruined by multiple pages worth of footnotes. It releases the tension for me.
I like the interesting take on presentation of the content, though. Maybe I'll try to read this again but definitely not any time soon.
An awesome book for those who have already wet there feet in ruby and are now itching to expand their knowledge. It not only teaches you metaprogramming, but the innards of ruby itself. As the author puts it, “Metaprogramming is everywhere in Ruby”.
