See allMichael Haller strikes again! I've seen the first 2 seasons of the show before realizing it's based off a book series. The show is good but Connelly's writing makes you want to keep turning the pages until you know what happens. It's like you're there in the courtroom yourself. I love the show and and enjoying the books (a bit more than the show tbh).
This was a roller coaster ride. The new girl in town gets involved with the “hunting wives” who do nothing but drink, shoot guns, and cheat on their spouses. The new girl however falls hopelessly for the head of the group and yearns for her even though she herself has a husband and child of her own. I love a good yearning. Things fall apart after there's a murder and then another murder... Crazy plot. This does involve some of the women (who are in their late 30's) engaging sexually with 18yr olds boys so do what you will with that information...
I liked the idea of the story. Trying to figure out why this lady killed her husband and why she doesn't speak until a new psychotherapist comes into the picture to help her work through the trauma. The build up is kind of slow and some parts felt like a drag. It was only until the end where everything was falling together where it got interesting. It was easy in my opinion figuring out the plot twist but it is a good twist.
