The second book in the series and it was just as good as the first one!
I did find a couple of characters rather frustrating, but it was still an excellent read nonetheless!
It has been a very good series (so far!) and I can't wait for the last book to be released! I hope it's not going to be too long a wait for that!
Thank you to PH and J M Briscoe for the chance to read this book.
I wasn't sure what to expect when I signed up for this one, but I'm so glad I did!
It was so, so good with some great characters and plenty of action! Definitely got very tense at times leaving me on the edge of my seat!
I think it would definitely make for a good movie!
Thank you to PH and John for the chance to read this.
Definitely recommend it!
Having read the first two books, I was looking forward to reading this and it definitely lived up to expectations!
I love DS Max Craigie and the gang and once again it was a fabulous ride with them.
Fast paced, well written and with some great characters. I probably would have read the book in one go if I'd had a physical copy of the book.
If you haven't read this series, then I definitely recommend it!
Thank you to Pigeonhole (PH) and Neil Lancaster for the chance to read this book.
This is such a good series! I came across it thanks to some random browsing on Amazon and I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it!
Well, I started with the Street Rats of Aramoor series by Michael and I loved that.
Ayrion and some other characters from SRoA make a reappearance, whilst we're introduced to some new characters too.
Ayrion and Ferrin are by far my favourites!
I love the world of Aldoran and can't wait to return to it in the next book! It can't come out soon enough!
Highly recommend it!
This was another excellent book by Heidi!
I loved being reunited with some of our main characters from the previous book!
It was very tense at times and I probably would have read the book in one sitting if I'd had a physical copy of the book.
I look forward to reading the next book in the series!
Thank you to PH and Heidi for giving us the chance to read this book!
I started with liking this series, but by this third book I pretty much wanted to throttle Rhysand, Feyre and the rest of them! Well, that and after a skim read of A Court of Frost and Starlight.
The reason? Their absolutely horrible treatment of Tamlin! I think I might be in the minority who feels really sad and awful for Tamlin.
Ps. Apologies for the long rant, but I just had to say it.
* POTENTIAL SPOILERSI get he did some really awful stuff, but by the end of the third book, I was feeling desperately sorry for him. I mean, in his own way he did help with the war. People only seem to see the bad in him, but did people forget how he provided a distraction for Feyre and Azriel to get away when they went to save Elain? Or when he gave that little bit of his power at the end to bring Rhysand back?! Considering how they all hated him, he could well have said no and said to hell with it! True, they probably would have killed him if he said no, but he did it! Do people forget that he made sure to take care of Feyre's family when he took her over the wall when he could well have left them to rot?! And what about how he must have felt when Feyre destroyed the Spring Court? Yeah, she had her reasons, but does noone think about how that must've felt for Tamlin?! Or how he might have felt when Lucien, his best friend, left him too?! Don't get me wrong, I wanted to throttle him for how he treated Feyre, which I actually don't think was helped by vile, horrible Ianthe! But people seem to forget what being Under The Mountain did to him too. It's awful that he didn't he try to help her when they were stuck there, but no one is perfect. He also put himself at risk by being so involved with Hybern, but he did it. Maybe it was for selfish reasons but he did it. I find it really sad how he became so isolated. He didn't help matters, but it's sad that literally no one bothered to try to help him. They just brushed him off like some evil villain, who wasn't worth trying to help. Reading about him in A Court of Frost and Starlight, living in that absolute mausoleum of a house, made me just want to reach into the book and give him the biggest hug! If there are anymore books in the series, then I hope Tamlin finds some happiness/redemption. Everyone deserves a second chance! Going back to Rhysand and the rest, I can't believe the hypocrisy of the lot of them! They can all make mistakes and be forgiven , but Tamlin can't?! Like Nesta? They're willing to forgive all her crappy, shitty behaviour, but can't extend the same courtesy to Tamlin?! Nesta can be a grade a b*** to everyone including her sisters no less, but they're happy to let it go?! But when it comes to Tamlin they're happy to knock him down again and again?!
After that treatment of Tamlin, they can all rot for all I care, with their bullshit holier than thou attitudes! Well, apart from Azriel and Lucien. The only two characters that I remain liking. The only reason I'll read any future books (if there are to be any) is for them.
My first Robert Bryndza book, and wow, what an excellent read!
It was a definite page turner with plenty of action. It was so tense too.
I loved the Kate and Tristan tag team! They really worked well together and I look forward to reading the other books in the series!
Thank you to Robert, NetGalley and publishers Little Brown Book Group and Sphere.
This was a fantastic read! I loved it from start to finish.
It had plenty of twists that I didn't see coming. My favourite character turned out to be someone I wasn't expecting it to be at all.
It was a very well written book with plenty of tension.
Thank you to PH and Andrea for the chance to read this excellent book.
Definitely recommend it!
This was a good read, although I'm not sure how believable some of it was.
Saying that, I still enjoyed it. It had an interesting cast of characters.
It had a lot of tension and I would have read the book in one go if I'd had a physical copy of the book.
Thank you to PH and Chris for the chance to read this book.
This was the first book in the Dylan Dover series and it was very good! For a middle grade book, I am surprised at how much I enjoyed it! I admit that one of my main reasons for requesting this book was to help complete a prompt for a reading challenge I'm doing. I'm really glad I requested it!
I loved the cast of characters and will definitely be waiting in anticipation for the next book in the series!
It was very well written.
Thank you to Lynne Howard, NetGalley and publishers BooksGoSocial/The Conrad Press for the chance to read this book.
This was a very enjoyable read with a very good blend of fact and fiction.
It was harrowing at times when reading about the torture/interrogations Nehmann and Schultz were put through. Same could be said when reading about the devastation they passed through as they were taken from place to place.
It was fascinating reading about the political game played out by various sides, from the US, to the UK, to Russia, to Germany itself.
I was also intrigued with the whole Minister of Propaganda aspect. I hadn't realised that had been a thing. Although I suppose it had to have occurred in order to keep people in line.
I haven't read the previous books in the Spoils of War collection, so I'm definitely going to read them as soon as possible.
Thank you to PH and Graham Hurley for the chance to read this excellent book.
What an absolute thriller! Despite the grizzly murders, I thoroughly enjoyed this!
I went into this not having read the first book in the series, so I wasn't sure what to expect. Having read this, I feel like I've done myself a disservice by not having read the first book despite it being on my TBR list for a while!
I loved DI Henley and her team and will look forward to reading more books involving them.
This was brilliantly written and it had me hooked from start to finish.
Thank you to PH and Nadine Matheson for the chance to read this book.
I highly recommend it!
I'd read this book, and a few others in the series, but it was a few years ago. I'd forgotten what had happened in them, so I'm reading them again!
I do remember that reading it the second time was as thrilling as it was the first time!
I'm definitely looking forward to reading the rest of the series!
An absolutely fantastic book!
A very thought provoking read, with a wonderful cast of characters with the exception of Anthony Rollins and his wife, Katherine! They were the worst and I really couldn't stand them.
The book was beautifully written, with plenty of sad and heartwarming moments. I loved how, when the need arose, people were quick to come together despite the efforts of others to cause division.
I'm so indecisive, I have no idea what I would have done if I'd found myself with a box on my doorstep!
Thank you to PH and Nikki Erlick for the chance to read this book.
Highly recommend it!
I'm not sure what to make of this book.
On the one hand I can understand the wives anger at their husbands. But, on the other hand, they believe what the letter tells them without any real proof? Just going on hearsay?
I'm also not sure I understand how they can cover a crime up, yet treat their husbands with contempt? Don't get me wrong, rape is serious and there's no excuse for it. But the wives behaviour towards what they did, and what their husbands did stank of hypocrisy.
I also don't understand how the wives could cut the men so fully out of the childrens' lives, when realistically there was no real danger to them. You might not want anything to do with the men, but cutting them out their kids' lives? You'll likely end up hurting the kids.
I can't say I much liked any of the characters, although I did feel a tad sorry for Stephanie. Her husband was awful.
Thank you to PH and Cate Ray for the chance to read this book.
The book had an interesting premise, but I can't say the same for Asha and Cyrus' relationship. Honestly, I couldn't see the point of it considering the fact that once their startup started hitting off, they spent the majority of their time at the offices then they did at home. It's not the main point of the book, but I kept asking myself what they were even doing together.
Cyrus, once the Startup hit off, started coming across as an arrogant narcissist. As for Asha, well she was clearly talented, but I hate the way she let the men walk all over her, and I also disliked them, for not listening to her.
I have to say I saw what happened towards the end coming a mile away, especially when certain characters thought they knew best and didn't listen to the warnings. I was very tempted to shout ‘serves you right' at them!
Thank you to Tahmima Anam, NetGalley and publishers Canongate for the chance to read this book.
A lovely, lighthearted read!
I loved the sense of community that the residents of Nightingale Square shared between them and how everyone looked out for each other.
I loved Freya, Finn and the rest of the Nightingale Square resident.
It was a very well written book, with a wonderful cast of characters.
Thank you to Heidi Swain, NetGalley and Simon and Schuster UK for the chance to read this wonderful book.
If you want a nice, lighthearted read then I definitely recommend this!
This was a very enjoyable and well written book.
I like architecture, so I loved the fact that our main character was an architect, or atleast studying to become one.
I also liked the fact that some of the story took place in Hungary, a country I'm not overly familiar with.
It was very tense, and there were plenty of times when I had no idea who could be trusted and who couldn't.
Thank you to Alison Booth, NetGalley and publishers RedDoor Books (RedDoor Press) for the chance to read this book.
This was an excellent read. Definitely not your typical romcom book. It definitely had depth to it with both Lexie and Theo having their issues.
I loved how Lexie took up looking after Connor like he was her own son. I also loved how Theo always stepped up to his godfatherly duty anytime Connor needed him!
I loved Theo, Lexie and Connor as characters. I can't say the same for Daryl (Lexie's ex husband/Connor's father)! He was awful.
I enjoyed the multiple POV chapters, so that you got things from all their perspectives.
I thought this was a very well written book.
Thank you to Lisa Swift, NetGalley and Hera Books for the chance to read this.
This was a nice, lighthearted read, although, as a non drinker, I admit to not understanding how two people can end up getting married after a night of drinking and have no recollection of it.
Saying that, it was still an enjoyable read. It had a wonderful cast of characters.
Thank you to author Jaci Burton, NetGalley and publishers Headline for the chance to read this book.
