The book was mostly enjoyable, I laughed a few times, the spice was good, blood drinking scenes were hot but I absolutely HATE the whole trope where a character purposely hurts the other cause they don't feel like they deserve the relationship. That happened here and it honestly ruined the whole relationship for me. Misery deserves better.
Some of the best fae in popular fantasy books, story is compelling and it sets up the rest of the series well enough.
However it is written in a way thats more catered to early teens which personally was kind of hard to get into.
The book is solid and if the writing style isn't a deal breaker for you give this a read!
If i had read this as a teenager I'm sure this would've been an easy 5 stars for me.
One of my favourites ever since i was a teenager, I occasionally reread this because of how much of an impact it made in my life
I read this book as a teenager and I've got to say it's quite forgettable and i don't understand why booktok is obsessed over it. It was decent but not my cup of tea.
To be truthful i read this as a teenager which was 8 years ago but i remember absolutely loving it so im rating it as i would've at the time
Great story I really enjoyed this when I read it in my late teens and I really related to Carrie.
