See allWhat a wild ride! Meghan Quinn never disappoints and this book was an adventure!
I was extremely fortunate to get an advanced audio version of this book and it was amazing - I finished it in a day and a half! It's a full cast with Teddy Hamilton (❤), Samantha Brentmoor, Shane East, Vanessa Edwin, JF Harding, and Robert Hatchet!
Shane and Samantha brought Atlas and Betty to life and Shane East as the story narrator was perfection! The breaking of the wall between Atlas and the Narrator was great!
Atlas was a spaz and Betty was the perfect amount of sass to bring Atlas down! The chemistry between them was electric and when they finally intertwined, it was magical!
TROPES He Falls First and Hard Small Town Romance Holiday Romance Enemies to lovers He Pines for Her Cinnamon Roll MMC
I was incredibly lucky to receive an ARC copy of Scrooged for the Holidays by Kayla Grosse — and wow, what a ride!
This spicy MMMF small-town romance was something I didn’t know I needed until I dove in. The story follows Greer, a self-proclaimed scrooge who's closed off emotionally due to deep-rooted family trauma. Branded "The Ice Queen" by her image-obsessed parents (who were more interested in appearances than affection), Greer has absolutely no love for the holidays. When her job sends her to a small ski resort town to serve an eviction notice to a beloved family-run restaurant — just before Christmas — she’s all business and no holiday cheer.
That’s when we meet Remiel — the first of three Nephilim who are on a divine mission to help people rediscover their holiday spirit. Alongside him are Malachi and Samael. Each of them plays a unique role: Malachi reveals the past, Remiel embodies the present, and Samael offers glimpses of the future. Think A Christmas Carol, but a lot steamier.
Greer accidentally stumbles upon the trio in an intimate moment, and from there, things get very spicy. Their chemistry is off the charts, and the connection between the three men — already a strong, loving throuple — becomes something even more powerful with Greer in the mix.
I absolutely loved this book. It made me reflect on my own grinchy attitude toward the holidays and the reasons behind it. Like Greer, I’ve often felt disconnected from the winter festivities, so her journey really resonated with me.
The Nephilim men are not only steamy and supportive, but their bond is also genuine and touching. When Greer joins them, the emotional and physical chemistry becomes positively explosive.
If you're looking for a spicy, heartfelt, and slightly supernatural holiday romance with a meaningful message, Scrooged for the Holidays is a must-read!
This was my first book by Ellie Wilde, and I found it to be an enjoyable read! Initially, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised.
The story didn’t require intense focus, which made it a light and easy read. While some parts felt a bit lackluster, the romance between Zac and Melody "Clover" was the highlight for me.
Zac, Clover, and her twin brother Parker were inseparable growing up. Zac and Clover clearly had feelings for each other, but Parker’s overprotectiveness made it impossible for Zac to act on his feelings. Parker’s threat to anyone showing interest in his sister kept Zac at a distance, even when Clover attempted to take their relationship further at 18. Instead of reciprocating, Zac ran—putting 15 years and a lot of emotional distance between them.
Fast forward 15 years, and Melody is recovering from an emotionally abusive relationship. She moves back to her hometown and in with her brother, Parker. When Parker sends her on a camping trip with Zac in his place, the trip is filled with intense sexual tension.
Once back home, Zac and Melody finally begin dating, but they’re forced to keep their relationship a secret from Parker.
Melody was a relatable character for me, especially because her experiences mirrored some of my own. Her journey felt authentic and grounded. Zac, however, was harder for me to connect with. While I do love a die-hard romantic, he reminded me a lot of Niles Crane from Frasier—his character lacked depth beyond his obsession with Melody, and I wish we had gotten to know him better.
Overall, I enjoyed this book and its focus on love, second chances, and personal growth. Thank you to Ellie Wilde, NetGalley, and Atria Books for the opportunity to read this ARC!
Graydon St. John has a problem — his bad attitude has made him the league’s least likable player, and his team is desperate to fix his image. Their solution? Mandatory volunteer work at the local zoo. That’s where he meets Maple, the spirited flamingo keeper who has no patience for his grumpy attitude.
What starts as mutual annoyance quickly turns viral when the two start an Instagram account to promote the zoo’s flamingos and Graydon’s PR makeover. Soon Maple finds herself at his football camp, trying to learn the sport while navigating their growing chemistry. Their pretend relationship for the cameras starts feeling a little too real, and before long, sparks truly fly.
One of my favorite parts of this book was the side characters — full of sass, charm, and hilarious commentary, except Slutty Glasses, screw Mr. Slutty Glasses — as well as the delightful cameos from characters from previous series. Meghan’s writing shines here; her characters are deeply relatable, and the witty banter between them is *chef’s kiss.*
This story is a fun, flirty, feel-good romance with heart, humor, and just the right amount of slow-burn tension - trust me, when it burns, it burns bright.
