Hands down one of the best books I've read in the last couple of years. Cannot wait to read the next one.

So much fun! I'll definitely be visiting Discworld again soon.

A short book that packs a real punch.

I love having already gone through this series several times, and being able to pick up on details previously missed, delicate foreshadowings, and forgotten humorous moments. These books get better every time I read them.

It was pretty good I guess, a bit derivative. Picked it up at the library based on a Tor staffer recommendation. I think I expected more Scalzi spoof than Adams absurdity, and I would have appreciated the former more.

I honestly laughed out loud a few times, but all during the interview with Phyllis Diller.

Someone please make me a t-shirt.

I expected to like this a lot more than I did, but it was still good. There's no doubt that Joe Hill's craft has improved over time, and I will continue to devour his books.

I loved it. Every second of it. I'd give it 85 starts if it would let me. Brandon Sanderson has once again cemented his place as one of my favorite contemporary fantasy writers. I cannot wait to start Well of Ascension.

Light-hearted, quick read. Lots of fun. Super sweet. Enjoyed it immensely.

I definitely liked the series better 2nd time through.

I LOVE THESE BOOKS.
There, I said it.
And I'm not sorry about it either.

Oddly enough, this isn't the first series I've read where the protagonist turns themselves into a tree at the end.

I have thoroughly enjoyed these books. Much more than I thought I would. The characters are engaging, the stories move quickly. I'm a fan.

Outstanding. Really.

“Ignorance is the only truly unstoppable force in this world.”

“What about the self preservation they talk so much about?”
-“I don't know. You don't get too excited when you feel things are logical. This is logical. Nothing else but this could have happened from the way we've lived.”

“Is that cognitive science?”
-“No. It's more like suffering.”

“The origami unicorn revealed everything to me.”

“You misjudged her, as I misjudged the whale that swallowed me whole.”

This series is good. Hard boiled characters, alternate histories, damaged heroes and all of that. Listened to it on audio, felt like the narrator forgot some of the accents from the previous installment, which was a little confusing and took away from the storytelling.

I forgot before the reread how much of this book focused on the inner thoughts of a teenage boy. While the ersatz metaphors are charming and delightful, the constant pining, not so much. Still, a great story and a good foundation for the series.
