See allThis comic has so much heart, is so original, and so beautiful. This is a different story than the Netflix film, which is also so amazing and has many elements from the comic. ND Stevenson, who created this graphic novel, was a co-writer of Lumberjanes and also developed the She-Ra reboot. He seems like such an amazing person who puts so much of himself into his work. I highly recommend anything that this person creates. ❤️❤️❤️
I can't think of a negative thing to say about this book. Elliot what I can only believe is a genuine open and honest account of his life. There were experiences that he shared that really resonated with me as a trans person and touched me deeply. Elliot seems like a very insightful person and I feel like because of that he writes in what seems like a very impartial way about aspects of his life that someone could be biased about. I am very thankful to Elliot for sharing this book with the world and found reading it a valuable experience. I highly recommend this book, especially if you are trans or have someone in your life who is.
Light from Uncommon Stars is a story of a violin teacher who has made a deal with a daemon and finds a young trans woman to be her final student to complete the deal. The story also features a family of extra terrestrial aliens who are fleeing a galactic empire. Even though the story is beautifully absurd, it has so much soul and I found the whole thing to be so lovely and the relationships between the characters are gorgeous. Highly recommend.
This is an amazing book, I wish it was longer so that I can continue enjoying it but feel like I understand why it had to be that length. The story is set in a world where an extra terrestrial collective entity has merged with most of humanity so that it can be part of the human experience. This book explores love, loss and willingness to embrace uncomfortable emotions. I highly recommend it.
