This book was amazing. I had previously read all of the Shades of Magic trilogy and heard about the release of Vengeful and decided to give this one a shot. Wow. I loved the characters and the sinister darkness hovering around them. There was such well played brutality and tension. I loved how it all wrapped up. I do have some lingering questions, but those will probably be answered in Vengeful.
Great work by Victoria once again!
(Audiobook listener) This book took a pretty deep twist into the political and societal commentary and introduces a new language. It was enjoyable and wrapped up the story quite nicely but the bulk of the book seemed to be influenced by the political climate. The narration ov Eva sounded like she was raised in Brooklyn rather than Puerto Rico and had some issue with pronouncing ‘R' sounds (or maybe that was to leave the impression that she was still a kid?)
I've never had so many laugh out loud moments in a book! I highly recommend the audiobook - the voices definetely bring the characters to life!
This is a great funny read for those who have played or been around the D&D crowd. Also for any fans of crude humor movies like The Hangover, Fanboys, Knights of Badassdom (yes thats a real movie and if you liked it -read this book!) I cant wait to breeze through the rest of the series.
