This is darker than Mindhunter, but definitely deeper. I appreciate the detailed manner in which Douglas described the psychology of perpetrators. It makes me understand their behavior, but also how to prevent future cases. Though this book reveals the darkest part of the human behavior, it also gives a unique insight into what we can do for our society. Therefore, I think this book is perfect for parents and any other person who works with children.
There were two things I didn't like about this book. First, the pace. Maybe I got used to The Riyria Revelations' pace because I felt this book was slower in comparison. Some chapters felt unnecessary, and even though I didn't get bored, I wondered why they were so long. Second thing I didn't like about this book was Gwen. I like her, I really do, but not as a main character. It was interesting to see her side of the story and how she got to be the person she was; however, I expected this book to be more focused on Hadrian and Royce, not on her. I still want to continue the series, but I really want to see more of Riyria.
Second reading: even more intense than I remember. This new era is better than the first, and I didn't think that'd be possible.
Didn't think Mistborn could get better, but I was wrong. This era makes the first one look almost primitive. The new cast of characters are likeable, and I really want to read more about them.
I've been following Cassandra Calin's Instagram account for a while now. Her comics are hilarious and relatable; besides, the art is really good so the stories are highly enjoyable. With this book I expected to see comics that hadn't been published before; and even though there were some, I was expecting more. And I have to admit I felt kinda lost sometimes because the pages didn't have a title. When you see her comics on her social media accounts, she adds a caption to help you understand the context. However, in this book I found none and I can understand why some new readers are confused.
Overall, I still recommend this book. I'd love to see a full graphic novel by Cassandra in the future, but I still think this collection of comics are worth a read.
I got this book through Netgalley, and I thank to publishers for providing me this copy. My review isn't influenced by this fact.
Actual rating: 3.5 ⭐️
This was an unexpected surprise. I started reading this thinking it'd be a detective story, but instead I found monsters and weird conspiracies - which I liked. The plot was perfectly developed, and the ending left me wanting more. Of course, the art is stunning, and the colors bring out the best of each scene.
My only problem is the pace. Some panels were a bit boring compared to others, and I had to focus really hard to keep reading. However, I still think is a good story and I'd love to continue reading.

Abercrombie is an author I've been meaning to read for a while. I picked up this series for this reason, and I'm glad I started with Shattered Sea.
Half a king is an interesting book. The story unfolds rather quickly, the character's development is fun to see, and the the plot is enjoyable. The only thing that struck to me as odd was the ending. Nothing wrong with it. Actually, it was a perfectly good ending, so I don't know how this can be the first of a trilogy. However, I'm going to continue the series just to see where it goes.
Even though I can't say this is my favorite book, I can definitely say it made me want to read Abercrombie's adult books. They seem promising!
A writer goes missing and she leaves behind clues about her mysterious past. That sentence doesn't even explain how bizarre this book is. But I think saying more than that would ruin the whole experience. The thing with this book is that is not for everybody. I've read some mixed reviews about it, and it seems like there's no middle point: either you hate it or love it. And I totally understand why. It's way darker and the characters are more messed up... and that's only the mystery. We also have fairies.Never in my whole life I expected a book like this to have fairies, but, hey, Camila Bruce made it and it works. The fairies add more depth to the plot and the characters. I don't think the book would have the same impact without them. Overall, for me, it was a good read.I'm usually a slow reader when it comes to eBooks, so I planned to finish this in a couple of weeks at least. However, I read this in one sitting because it was so compulsive and I couldn't let it go. I just had to read one more page. When I finished, I wanted more of this story. That's my main reason why I didn't give this book five stars. I wanted another POV or an epilogue at the end, but I was disappointed. Nevertheless, I highly enjoyed the story, and I'd definitely read more books by Camila Bruce. Her books are right up my alley. As I said before, this book is that is not for everybody, but it's worth a try. After all, you'll never know what you're missing unless you try.I got this book through Netgalley, and I thank to publishers for providing me this copy. My review isn't influenced by this fact.

Oh, to Be a Blobel!: 4 ⭐️. A bit predictable, but enjoyable. The Electric Ant: 5 ⭐️. Faith of Our Fathers: 1 ⭐️. Boring, I had a hard time finishing it. We Can Remember It for You Wholesale: 5 ⭐️.
Overall, I liked the collection. It's the first book I've read by Philip K. Dick and I don't think it'll be the last.
