This is the kind of book I'll remember for the rest of my life.
The way we, as a society, relate to death is present in everything we do. The fear of it. This book made me understand death better, both in a pratical way (what is the kindest way to deal with a loved one remains?) and a philosophical one. The way I grief will be incredibly different from now on.
More like 3 1/2. A lot of mixed feelings about this.
A few chapters that were incredibly exciting, followed by some of the most cringeworthy scenes ever. Snow's character development is a bit confusing. A few of his actions seemed like things he wouldn't do but were written to further the plot, what is a shame.
However, the romance in this made me yell to my boyfriend like I was a schoolgirl. JUST KISS HER, DAMMIT! And the whole hunger games kept me on edge. Well done.
I'm bumping this review up to 4 stars. Even though at the time of reading I felt like half of the things here would never be feasible outside of basecamp, months later I still find myself remembering something from this book every single day, no exaggeration. Everyone who works with digital products should read this.
