Really amazing writing. The story jumps around in time, which I usually find to be a style I don't like. But in this book, it is interesting and creates a feeling of putting together a puzzle which you finally solve at the end.
Way too much god. Usually I can overlook but it was a lot of “higher power will care of you” stuff. Any of the good bits were just made cringe by the religiosity.
A compelling read, full of history of the Mormon church and the fundamentalist/polygamist splinter that exists today. It was hard to put down!
Listened to the audiobook on a long drive. Wil Wheaton is fantastic narrating this futuristic tribute to the 1980s.
