First half made me feel doomy and vindicated, last half gave me more hope

I thought I was gonna hate this book and only picked it up due to a recommendation from a coworker.

I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this book. It is so well written and the rules/mechanics that are established leave the door open for so many fun possibilities. The way events link together is done exceptionally well.

I understand why these have been trending so much lately!

I didn't like this much. The pop culture references were fun at times but Chris alone makes me dislike this book.

The way I would describe this is ~ if a stereotypical comic book loving incel wrote a book where they were the main character ~ this would be it.

Aka guy gets a "questionably Young" cheerleader girlfriend (she is 20 and he is 25 but Chris refers to her as jailbait 🤢) but also has a goth girl falling for him and he is simultaneously an evil person but also a true hero....

I could say more but I don't really need to.

a story with a kooky house hates to see me coming 😤

the fright scenes were actually spookier than I expected and I like the initial banter between Eleanor and Theo

over I enjoyed "We have always lived in the castle"more but this was nice and short too

Santángel was a neat character, I really liked his story

This was fine. Mostly a case of a book I was never gonna like all that much - why I chose it for an audiobook

I almost dnf at 93 % bc it kept going on and on and I didn't care that much

This was very refreshing after the slog that was book 10.

Better understanding Moiraine and her motivations was endearing and its surprising to see her act like a child when she is so serious in the mainline.

Also learning more about true Aes Sedai and some of the blue's secret weaves was neat

I loved this, Constance and Mericat were endearing and uncanny in the best ways

Holly did a wonderful job of cutting out the less important details in order to keep the plot moving and the story lean. Impressive YA series!

Dnf, this writing style is my personal hell. I can't speak to the actual story

Leigh is 4/4 so far, would highly recommend if y is u like their other work

This is a very interesting book and I liked a lot of the elements and complexity.

I wish it was more concise, less pedantic, and Truants line was less crass.

This book put together a lot of pieces from the first two and I spent some time on the wiki and the series is making more sense!

This one continues to flesh out the world of Panem and introduces some of the characters we meet in the main series.

Its less impactful as. Ballad of song birds and snakes but is wonderfully written and heart wrenching

Dnf, this was the book that sparked a lot of discussion about pesticides and their extended effects on the environment.

I was curious about it so I checked it out.

It is very fear monger-y with a lot of half baked anecdotes. It is an important piece but we are all still alive like 60 years later and science has progressed far enough for there to be better sources on pesticides

This was my least favorite but it provided some answers to questions I've had.

The myth was bigger than the woman and felt strangely hollow and meandering for the first 70% and then it started to come together

The plot was kinda loose but it still has bones and now the world is developed.

I think there is supposed to be three books and I think they could be pretty solid

What a whirlwind!

In 5th grade a class mate told me I was going to hell for reading this

I dnf this a few years back but I picked it up again in audiobook form.

It was ok, kinda dreadfully boring but it introduced some thought provoking ideas and concepts. Pretty ugly book but it asked some tough questions about morality and society.
