I finished jewel of the seven stars finally

The egyptologists (grave robbers) retrieved a mummy and some artifacts from a tomb and put it on display in their house.

After the mummy astral projected and killed several people they realized the queen had set up her tomb to be resurrected.

Being men of ~good nature with broad foreheads of thinkers~ they attempted the resurrection. They convinced themselves they knew exactly what the queen wanted and that she approved of their actions.

Then they unwrapped her mummy cat and burned it so it couldn't interfere and got upset when they all died during the resurrection

The YA dialogue at the beginning kinda drove me insane but the not so YA horror was well done

Maybe I'll check out shadow and bone after I finish this duo

Listening to her writing made me much less mad than reading it

I liked the mysticism

DC did it better

Better than the first but also sucked more

The first one I didn't really like. The misogynistic comments were very annoying, the book dragged, and the ending felt weird to say the least

Black, Gay, Nerd, Birder and very thoughtful. I learned a lot from this book and Cooper's perspectives on oppression

Can't stand the writing. Can't finish

The ending is a bit convoluted but I had a blast with the book
