Brilliant short novella. Great atmosphere. Lee has a style of writing that delivers great prose without feeling self congratulatory. Absolutely need to read more of her

Great fun with a really inventive core concept. Felt like a relentless chase. Perfect for a movie adaptation.

Got absolutely lost half way through which is probably how it's intended to be

Feel like the core idea is incredible but it's wrapped up in an incredibly inaccessible narrative. Either that or I'm not smart enough for it

Not sure if this was a fix up novel but it felt like it. Overall plot wasn't much special but the Jupiter mission section was full of very cool ideas.

Great dialog. Great characters.

Really enjoyed this. Didn't see the twists coming. One of those you feel you need to read twice to see how things slot together

Great dialog. Snappy witty and feels real. Going to read a lot more of this series.

I do like weird fiction and this gets talked bout along side lovecraft but there were parts of this that were a real slog when they shouldn't have been

Very very dull

Didn't overstay its welcome and had incredible atmosphere

Wanted to like this more than I did. Main character is great and the world the story inhabits has some great ideas. I just wish there had been more exploration of those ideas and the pacing was a little more even. Some of the main character turns were very abrupt and didn't feel earned.

Phenomenal. Up there with some of the best I've read.

Baffling how this could be so boring in such a interesting universe. No idea why people hold it in high regard

Loved the concept but lost its way towards the end.

Really really enjoyed this and it was a solid 5 stars until the end which missed for me. But perhaps I'm missing the point. One to think about afterwards. Phenomenal characters and the shrike is compelling too.

Really excellent. I'd recommend going in knowing as little as possible about it

Phenomenal. Really well structured and full of ideas while still keeping interesting characters. Will absolutely continue the series

A slog. Interesting concept but on that went a bit too far and lost my interest

Another 800 page monster that earns every one of its pages. Who knows if they'll stick the landing with the final book but this was phenomenal and this series is without the most underrated in fiction

Utterly bizarre and initially I didn't think I'd stick with it as I don't love sci fi that is essentially fantasy but as the world showed itself it became much more enjoyable. Absolutely not what I expected it to be

Interesting and to be honest a little close to home.

Short but a complete slog. Writing style incredible difficult to parse

Basically vital to the wider arc but not the best thing in this universe

Really Really liked this. Its a 4.5 stars really.

Really unique view on a what initially seems like a textbook possession story. Didn't overstay its welcome. It'll be in my top ten this year i think. Cant wait to read some more Tremblay
