Intriguing, you don't know where this story is going with all the questions and twists that happens.

I was amazed at how good that book was. Wished that this kind of circus existed!

As a book reader, I was suprised that I never heard of this author. By chance one of my bookclub had this book for the book of the month and decided to read it. I wasn't sure when I started reading this book if I was going to like it, it started really slow but all of a sudden I couldn't stop reading it! Beautifully written, just the right amount of mystery, suspense and love. I truly enjoyed reading this book. It will be in my to read more than once list.

Love love it! it's the kind of book that you can't stop reading. Some people didn't like the ending but I found that the ending was just right.

Beautiful historical story about t Marie-Laure and Werner whose life cross paths during WWII. Wonderfully written, incredible characters.Well detailed and interesting. Loved the little French words here and there. The short chapters were a great idea but felt the book was a little bit too long, still a 5/5 novel.

2.5 stars, was not what I expected. Very weird and confusing.

This book was all over. Too many characters. I feel the main story was lost and didn't have the climax of revenge. Disappointed.

Beautiful, sad tragic and will make you shed a tear at the end.

Beau roman a travers les yeux d'un enfant immigrant au Quebec. Les hauts et les bas de vivre au Quebec, l'intégration, comprendre les mots “jouale” mais surtout ce livre porte le terme de la famille. Bien exécuté

I bought this book on sale thinking it was going to be a simple love story, I was wrong. I got sucked into it and was hard to put down. Great story can't wait to read the next one.

That was one heck of a dysfunctional family. This book reads like a soap opera that you get caught into and want to know more!

Not as good as the first one but still the same Joe. Mess with him and you'll pay dearly!

Pretty rare that you see an author take supporting characters and dedicate an entire book to them. John Connolly did it just that. Taking Louis and Angel and do a story about them especially about Louis's past before ever meeting Angel and Charlie Parker. Great storyline and so full of action and a side of humour.

Sweet, funny, tear-jerker novel. Ove is the kind od character that is grumpy bitter but will stay with you fow awhile.

After an toxic gas named Variant, the world is destroyed and the remaining people are living underground. Set in the futur after the catastrophy, they rely on a group of «Mothers» who are tested at a Young age to repopulate the world. Maya is one of their top «Mothers» and one day she agrees to carry a child without knowing anything about the father. Her son Terry is not like the others, he's altered. On 7th birthday, he's happy because he's going to his first day of school. What he doesn't know is that the moment he sets foot in the school he's staying for the next 10 years to be trained as a soldier. The most bizarre is that a lot of kids are also celebrating the same birthday as him and are selected to become soldiers too.
As the years go by , we see them grow up, trained and educated all part of the of the plan to try to go back to the surface.

It was a really great story, well written and the mystery and suspense made you want to read more of the book. The ending does not disappoint.

Didn't like this book at all. The suspense just fell flat. The characters were boring. The plotline looked interesting but it wasn't a thrilling, can't sleep because I need to know what happens story. It felt one note all through the book. The relationship between Elena and Landry was plain boring. Very disappointing novel.

Interesting book. Not amazing but great read.

Total 5 stars. what a way to end the Grant series. A lot of twists, some questions were answered and the ending what a shocker.

I enjoyed the book. I thought it was going to be just about Cecilia, the letter and the consequences of reading the letter but it was so much more. Other stories about two other women. Infidelity, revenge and twist at the end made it a great read.

A funny and times serious. A great book from an amazing comedian.

I liked it but did not love this book. I have mixed feelings about this one. Some parts were good like the relationship between John and Owen but I felt this was slow and parts were not that interesting.I found there was a little bit too God in this book.

Loved it. Such a beautiful story. The ending was perfect and hopeful!

That was one heck of a bizarre freaky story. keeps you hooked and guessing from the start until the end.

It took me awhile to really get into the book and at the end I did enjoy it. It's a slow book about two friends in the 50's. It starts when they are adults and Lila has disappeared and her son is looking for her. Instead of helping, Elena is remembering her childhood with Lila. Living in a small village, the violence, the jealousy and the envy that surrounds them.

The author does a good job making us part of the time and places. The struggle living during that time, the lack of choices for education of jobs, approuvals from the parents about the type of person you can marry.

Looking forward to know more about Lila and Elena in the next ones.

I don't know why I waited this long to read this one. Captivating story. Some parts were a bit too slow but overall it was a great read. Lots of family secrets hidden, loss of a loved one and to finally have the truth revealed. Worth reading!
