the first of Murakami’s books that i have read, and i loved his style of writing. although the depiction of women was somewhat objectifying, it was understandable through the perspective of the main character but it felt as though Murakami himself writes with a layer of misogyny. this aside, the book moved me in incredible ways and i grew wildly attached to the characters, overall it was a beautiful depiction of sadness
