As a monster of ancient days comes knocking at the present times, Mortlake is not sure how they are going to combat this beast. After being dumped by his girlfriend, he is surprised to meet the beautiful new teacher on campus, an archaeologist, who just might be able to help him defeat this ancient being.
Great read! I loved it! This might be my favorite book of the series so far!
As Marcus Mortlake tries to get on with a semblance of normalacy, nothing seems normal. He has a new girlfriend. His friend, Monty, has unfortunately died, leaving him without someone to really talk to.
But as children begin disappearing, Mortlake knows he has to do something - even if it costs his life.
Fantastic and one that you cannot put down once you start!
As the series continues, Mortlake finds himself at the mercy of one who should be dead. An old girlfriend to be precise. As she continues to haunt him, Mortlake is also forced to confront Crowe, one who wants to control all - and will kill anyone who gets in his way.
Horror greatness here ya'll. I enjoyed this one!
As the shadows stalk the country, Mortlake is on the hunt for the monster that is once again stalking him. Working with his new girlfriend, and a secret government entity, Mortlake is finding this case is unlike any other - and he is not sure who he can truly trust.
Great book! I loved it - and there is enough of an opening to hope that other books are coming soon!
Having enjoyed around four years of peace, the Furies are once again after the small group. As they work together to try and defeat them, they know they have to find the source. Once there, they may have to make a pact with the devil in order to survive the assault that is about to come.
LOVED this ending! I was not expecting it at all! Great read.
Death and murder were sometimes hard to distinguish in earlier times. Many people were convicted on flimsy evidence, and who you were, or weren't could determine your guilt.
This was a great read, diving into the crimes or not-true crimes of early Britain, and some of the horrific laws that were enacted.
Great read! I enjoyed it!
Alek and Evelyn have teamed up again, as the older siblings of the killer family are coming after her. They blame her for their parents death, and they are determined to take her out. The Furies, however, have other plans.
As they work to survive the deranged older siblings, Alek, Evelyn and the twins work together to stay alive, and try to figure out how to defeat the monsters chasing them.
A fun read. I could not put this one down.
The Torso Murders captured the Chicago landscape, and Elliott Ness was wrapped up in the investigation. Rising politically, he had not had a misstep since his star started ascending. But no one was above public outcries, and Ness was about to find that not being able to solve this case would have devastating effects.
Great read! I enjoyed the facts and the story that was wound through these pages. I had read about Elliott Ness before, but this story zeroed in on one distinct aspect. A great read!
Dive into a new magical adventure - you might even survive!
Ropa and her friends are going to have to solve a new case, after a librarian is murdered (seriously, who kills a librarian??? They are awesome!), and they are in search of a specific scroll. There are dangers along the way, not only the very powerful people that are now angry they are forced to remain during a murder investigation.
Danger lurks in dark places...
I am going to admit that I am very torn on this book. While there are some very compelling scenes throughout the book, there are also some places where it simply just falls flat. The young lady, Ropa, just got on my nerves throughout most of the book - as her attitude (okay, I get it, teenagers - but not all teens are typical teens (and yes, I have two)) just set me on edge. The slang throughout and the forced accent often of the narrator were also not fantastic - but still - there were some redeeming qualities within the book.
No one is going to read the same book the same way, so if you choose to read it, I hope you enjoy it more than I did!
The New Bedford Highway Serial Killer ran rampant for several years. The police had plenty of suspects, but no clear evidence pointing to any one person.
The search for justice continues, while the police do everything in their power to identify each body, and bring closure to the families.
This was a good read. I enjoyed it!
As the few survivors of the team try to cope with what happened at the Abbey, the media continues to talk about the massacre that occurred.
There may be a chance to rescue one member who was sucked into another dimension, but the danger that lurks is only the beginning of the terror that is to come.
Good read. I enjoyed it!
The interlopers are determined to take over the world as we know it, but there are a few that are willing to stand up to them. Will they have what it takes to keep them from coming through? And what did they mean when they said “there are worse things than us?”
Good read. Curious to see where the next few books go.
This was a really interesting read, although there were a few places where my stomach rather turned.
Alan Carter has returned to his hometown, determined to figure out what happened to his sister. He knows what he saw, but no one believed him, minus one person, his best friend.
Now, he is determined to break the curse that hangs over the town once and for all.
The case of Precious Doe enthralled Kansas City for a very long time. The little girl who was discarded as nothing more than garbage had no name, no family looking for her, and an entire city who wanted to know what happened to her.
The police worked leads, trying to solve the case. It would take a very long time to come to a conclusion, and the ending would be as heartbreaking as the case itself.
A good read, but hard in many places. For parents, this will be a harder read, as we think about our own children. If you are not angry at the mother of this young girl as the story unfolds, you will be as it continues.
Drawing on his first case, Lt. Joe Kenda crafts a novel that will keep you enthralled from the first page.
When a wealthy socialite is murdered, there are similarities to several other cases around the country. As the team tries to figure out who might have wanted this beloved woman dead. Her husband appears to have an air-tight alibi, but as the detectives begin chipping away, they learn there is more to this relationship than first thought.
Absolutely LOVED this book! I could not put it down! I grabbed a audible copy so that I could swap between listening and reading, and both were equally fabulous!
Highly recommend this book to any true crime fans out there!
Shane Ryan goes undercover to try and figure out what is going on in a halfway house. As he dives deeper into some of the deaths that occurred, he is pulled back to a case that he thought was closed. When the ghost threatens the woman he loves, Shane is all in, and ready to end it once and for all.
Great read! I loved it!
