actually bummed i'm finished with it!
- my biggest fear in life is my child dying so this hit hard right off the bat... didn't help santiago was my kids age.
- the time jump between lena and josephs pov was jarring at first
- would read M POV forever

• sabrina and parth are whack
  - i think first person pov made this suffer a bit. peering in to wyn's thoughts would have made this a lot better
  - harriet girl you are wildly horny for this man calm down
  - the whole pottery thing felt really out of nowhere or maybe i just wasn't paying enough attention
  - she couldn't look for similar work in montana? that would have made more sense

generally not a fan of YA so this definitely wasn't for me to begin with - but the writing here is so odd at times. why do they say each other's names very other line??

read this after watching the movie and i think doing that made me give it a higher score since i was already familiar with the characters.

There was a lot of repetitiveness within the writing - she'd say one thing and reword it to say the same thing in the next breath? Kind of jarring when you're listening to it

listened to the audiobook which was really well performed so it bumped it up a star. was very twisty and lost me for a bit at the end but it was entertaining.

that ending was pretty abrupt but obviously it was the correct choice. would have very much hated this otherwise!
the age difference gave me the ick so I'm glad they are slightly aging Hayes up in the film adaptation

The ending was lovely.
Elizabeth was sooooo annoying, and I swear this isn't said negatively but Brie Larson playing her in the upcoming series makes perfect sense.
