fun little thriller, perfect for work commuting. predictable and nothing I haven't read before but enjoyed

too relatable at times

there's something abt this book that I just don't like, I think the way it's written and told is not my favourite

books like this make me realise that I don't dislike short books, most the time they are just done wrong or are short for the sake of being short. the way this is written and how the information is fed to the reader is done so well and works great in short form. some stuff did go over my head since im not british but everything else I did understand I really loved.

3.5

unlikely friendships will get me every time. i liked this alot, especially the second half of the book, but i think it was too short for me to get invested enough into the story and the choppy chapters didn't help either

this book made me sad and kinda anxious at the end

this was a pretty standard ya book for the most part; really enjoyed the fbi parts, the romance not so much (it was mostly cringy). the last 30 pages were good so I bumped the rating up and I will give the series a chance! yeah it's not perfect but I'm trying not to be harsh on ya, especially since this one was mostly readable and not too youngish

this was okay, very boring at times and took me 3 days to finish despite how short it is. part one was the only one i “enjoyed” (if u can even call it that), the rest was just not that interesting to me. i'd prefer if the whole book was just victim testimonies because that's the most important in my opinion. still an important read and i learned some stuff from it that i havent heard before.

4.5

this was so fucking good!!! read it in one day with no audiobook it was so gripping. love the characters, love the writing and LOVE the commentary and themes of this book. there were some small inconsistencies but I forgot about them by the end of the book so it wasn't that bad

stop ruining thrillers with stupid children, it's so lazy and annoying

this suffers from great idea, poor execution. this story has such a huge cultural impact and I know how important it is but oh my god would it kill the author to make it at least a bit more interesting? I felt like the whole time she's edging us and coming very close to finally showing something interesting but then takes a turn and comes back to the boring path. NOTHING HAPPENS IN THIS AND THE WRITING WAS SO BORING!!!!! I'm so dissapointed and I don't even care to finish the duology BUT I'm willing to give the show a chance.

this was so good, i love lesbian horror. the plot twist kinda got me scared that it was going in a certain way but thank god it didn't

eh this was so good and promising at first, loved the first 60-70% but then it just fell apart and was kinda messy. also a little too religious for my liking

I tried reading dracula and it was a very boring experience but this was the opposite. love the queer themes and the way it's written but it didn't grip me like I hoped it would? (didn't read this in english so maybe the translation is at fault idk)

average thriller, nothing special but nothing bad either. maybe a little annoying at times bc of the narrator

nic specjalnego, ale też nic złego. było to troche mniej poważne niż się spodziewałam

stop making beautiful and fun covers for bad books I beg you

2.5

the middle part of this book was soo good, esp part 2 but the beginning and end were a SLOG to get thru and I just didn't care abt anything. ive read better and more interesting books with such topics

2.5?

very conflicted bc the ending made me tear up and the whole character of merry was very sad and I love her so much and I think she's the cutest kid character I've ever read about. but all that aside the book was just okay and I don't really know what the point was coz I feel like as a reader u know right away this was about mental illness so there's no surprise factor? idk im just sad over this little kid being manipulated and not understanding what she did, that part made me want to cry so bad (if that story is real, but either way I'm sad)

Justin Timberlake needs to die

started so good I was very invested but then the second half of the book was very boring and the ending/explanation was kind of nothing and I'm dissapointed. hated his other book and this one was meh.

this was quite similar to grown ups by marie aubert (but I liked it more than this one). part 1 was so good I was invested in the drama of it all but part 2 was a slog and the ending just went nowhere.

3.5
to say I'm dissapointed would be an understatement. this wasn't bad but also not as good as I hoped it would. started so fucking great and I thought it will be my second penpal but then it got kinda boring and dragged and went on a billion side plots that didn't even amount to anything and then it ended. im SOO sad this wasn't a 5 star. such a beautiful cover too what a shame

this was fine but I think the length killed my enjoyment. loved the small town atmosphere and snooping around but it dragged a bit and when the reveal came I was just like okay

welcome back jeneva rose. this was so GOOD and sad and I also guessed the twist but I was happy about it. i love beth so much
