See allIt was almost a four stars but there was way too much Rhys/Abby. The smut was more detailed for them compared to the actual main couple. I found Abby's perspective and dialogue really childish and cringe so I was really annoyed how much of their scenes there were and how she was supposedly well educated and intelligent. I was so annoyed by the hundreds of pages of them together that I skipped their scenes and was so tempted to give this book two stars
However I did quite like the main couple, how obsessed the MMC was with the FMC and relentless he was when pursuing the FMC. He was a sap when it came to wooing her. Although their scenes could have been spicier and the ending was so abrupt. I was torn on whether it should be a two stars because of that.
The amount of Abby/Rhys and the terrible ending has meant I will definitely not reread this
DNF 39%. The first chapter was interesting with the backstory of how the FMC and MMC first met but after that I was bored. I didn't care about the FMC, MMC or the plot. I wasn't seeing any chemistry between the leads either. It was an issue of triggers, nothing bothered me in this, I was just bored
1-2 stars. Disappointing and forgettable. I wasn't a fan of the writing style. The romance was OK but the plot wasn't enjoyable to read - just didn't like it.
There was also unnecessary focus on side couples when already felt like there wasn't enough romance scenes between the main couple.
I really didn't like this book and only tried to finish it because it's been highly recommended
I was quite torn on 2 or 3 stars. The book was just OK. I didn't dislike it and I can't say I liked it either. This is a law firm romance between an intern and a playboy senior partner. The female lead is warned away from the male lead and the male lead is almost immediately interested in having sex with her.
There isn't really any romance build up and I only kept reading to read all the smut scenes. The main characters were bland and for a book that I assumed was smutty, it took more than half the book to get even get to the first scene and only two scenes were between the main leads, the second being a MFM sharing scene towards the end. Another smutty scene was FF and the other was the male lead with a different female character.
The smut scenes were decent, though I probably wouldn't reread the book for them.
I didn't buy the two leads getting together. It just seemed like the male lead had some initial sexual attraction with the female lead and didn't want her ending up with anyone else hence proposing a relationship together. I wasn't seeing any romance.
I thought I'd like this book because I liked Knox well enough from the Royal Elite series, liked Anastasia well enough in the Thrones duet and was curious what Anastasia's mafia background would do to this contemporary plot. This got boring so fast however, the plot dragged, I couldn't care less about the court case and after the FMC and MMC's first meeting, I stopped caring about their romance too.
I found myself only being interested in the mafia moments scattered in the second half of the book, especially Rai, but wow did this book destroy my impression of Aleksander. He seemed to be unreasonably violent which was not like her in the Monsters trilogy.
Some of the banter between the other Royal Elite characters and Knox were a fun read though.
I also find it unbelievable that Sergei would have such a hard time hunting down his daughter that would lead to the entire book events in the first place. Come on.
And Anastasia being this accomplished hacker? I don't know I find that believable either.
