The ideas are interesting and thought-provoking, but the characters and the plot are paper thin.

I liked this second book more than the first. The world building is amazing and so immersive. The plot is fast-paced and high stakes. I really grew to like Anden and Wen in this book.

Cute story.

Lemmed/DNFed at ~45%. The ideas are interesting, if somewhat grim, but I just couldn't get into the plots or the characters.

I wish that the supporting characters didn't change each book, but I enjoyed this third book nonetheless. Still love Doomslug!

Another enjoyable listen. Love Doomslug!

Very YA, but a fun and engaging story. I definitely want to read (well, listen to) the next one.

For a novella, there were too many subplots. I would read it after [b:A Master of Djinn 52504334 A Master of Djinn (Dead Djinn Universe, #1) P. Djèlí Clark https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1600715136l/52504334.SY75.jpg 78021845] (which I really enjoyed) so that you know more about the world going in.

A postmodern book a bit out of its era, so it feels cliché.

Satisfying ending to the series.

Not a bad book, just not my cup of tea. It was more alt-historical fiction than I realized going in, and had very little fantasy. Somewhat boring in the middle.

Fun escapist literature.

I really liked it at the beginning, but it got boring in the middle. I didn't care for the religious mysticism.

An enjoyable read with great world building.

Cute story.

Finally, a good gay romcom. It's cheesy and cliche, but—what can I say—I really enjoyed it.

Complicated and dense, more so than BLRW. I get why it was written in a dialect (of sorts?), but it was distracting. But, I couldn't put it down.

Definitely a middle book.

Satisfying conclusion to the trilogy.

Fun read, but definitely a middle book.

Light and fun.

Such a good short story.
