This audio cast is SUPERB! I liked the movie that was loosely (loosely!) based in the books, but I wasn't sure if the interview format would be something I liked.
I am so glad I was wrong! such and engaging story made even better by these excellent voices!
I believe this will become a yearly reread (re-listen!)
I'm usually a person that tries to read the book before going to a movie based on the book. I didn't have the opportunity to do that with The Martian. I still had a marvelous adventure with both formats.
I really do love the way Andy Weir writes books. Must be two nerds syncing on some level.
I'd recommend this book to anyone!
We've all experienced the book you can't put down... The story that just worms into your brain and demands to be read. I've experienced a few times in my life; The Hobbit by Tolkien, The Way of Kings by Sanderson, Raise the Titanic by Cussler (Hey! the heart loves what the heart loves!).
Operation Bounce House was another of those books for me! This story grabbed me and wouldn't let go until the last page. I started with a borrowed audiobook from Libby, and then found myself buying the Kindle version half-way through so I could keep reading when I wasn't in a position to listen!
I've read people saying this is too much like DCC; I don't see it. I love the original characters, the whole storyline!
I can't wait to read this book again!
This was a very engaging book. It's been interesting to compare and contrast the book with the TV show (Wayward Pines on FOX).
Once you can get over Blake Crouch writing style in the book (sometimes very disjointed, very stream of consciousness) it's a great book! And I definitely think that the writing style is a specific choice for the book and main character; it just takes a little while to get used to!
I thought this was a pretty good book. Very similar to many of Foster's other books. The story was very engaging and kept me interested throughout the book. It was a little graphic in it's descriptions of some of the violence at the end of the book, but nothing too bad. I'd recommend it to anyone wanting a nice quick read.
I was thoroughly impressed with this book. The book is broken down into many small chapters; almost like scenes in a movie or TV show. This really helped me out for getting involved in the book without feeling like I had to take forever to get reacquainted with what was going on.
The book was the right mix of mystery, comic book history, religion, etc... I would highly recommend this book!
too gory and depressing
