Point Horror Collection

This list contains titles which appeared in the "Point Horror" series of books. "Point Horror" is released by Scholastic Inc. and features books that were written by various authors within the horror or thriller genres. The content of the books is aimed primarily at teenage girls and they were somewhat popular amongst the target audience in the early to mid-1990s in both the U.S. and the U.K.

Many titles in the series started out as horror or thriller genre books under other imprints before being moved to "Point Horror"; as such you may find covers which list "Point", "Scholastic YA Fiction", "Point Horror", and others depending on when the edition was published (or re-published).

The majority of the works are self-contained and do not require reading in a particular order or in its entirety. There are some exceptions and they include Christina's story ("The Fog", "The Snow", and "The Fire" by Caroline B. Cooney); the Babysitter books by R.L. Stine ("The Babysitter", "The Babysitter II", "The Babysitter III", and "The Babysitter IV"); "The Forbidden Game" series by L.J. Smith ("The Hunter", "The Chase", and "The Kill"); "Vampire's Love" by Janice Harrell ("Blood Curse" and "Blood Spell"); "Halloween Night" and "Halloween Night II" by R.L. Stine; The "Vampire's Promise" series by Caroline B. Cooney ("The Cheerleader", "The Return of the Vampire" [alternatively titled "Evil Returns"], and "Fatal Bargin" [which was originally titled "The Vampire's Promise", but this is now the title for the ominbus collection of all three titles]).

Some of the more well known authors in the series include L.J. Smith (who later went on to write "The Vampire Diaries" series), Richie Tankersley Cusick, Caroline B. Cooney, Christopher Pike, R. L. Stine (creator of the "Fear Street" series and the "Goosebumps" series), and Diane Hoh (author of the entire "Nightmare Hall" series within "Point Horror"). While the books popularity waned Scholastic continued printing new titles after 1999 and has reprinted several of the older titles with new covers.

Please note that this list does not include the following: 1. titles published after 1999, 2. the "Nightmare Hall" series, 3. the "Unleashed" series, 4. the "Mutant" series, 5. the "Unseen" series, and 6. the omnibus collections. My original goal of this list was to focus on the works published in the 1990s. I do plan on adding the additional titles when I am able.

The titles in this list have been ordered to their original publication date. Editions shown below many not show original covers and may be re-prints as I was unable to locate the accurate edition through the search bar. This list may not be complete but I have made good faith efforts in my research.
