the most creatively structured book i've ever read. breaks 4th, 5th, and 6th walls you never thought possible.

r > g. what a powerful, simple concept that has broad-ranging implications for how to structure the distribution of wealth for society as a whole.

Min Jin Lee is a true inspiration. What a meticulously researched and personal love letter to family, history and Korea.

murakami's best short stories collection imo

a must for any serious student of history and lover of america

probably the best science fiction novel i've ever read. would put it up there with Lord of the Rings in terms of world building.

one of my favorite modern era novels. i couldn't put it down once i started. the characters and story feel so relatable and the pacing is wonderful. a powerful story about friendship and careers.

engagingly-written (as evidenced by later by movie adaptation) story of how systemic risk built up in capital markets. strongly recommend for anyone looking to understand the people and motivations behind GFC 2008.

good book for those who aren't initiated into this framework (thinking about decisions in expected value terms). for anyone else - pretty basic and no new insights.

guy's a bit of a hedgehog (see Altos Venture's blog post about foxes vs hedgehogs as 2 archetypes of people) but nonetheless good explanation of concepts like tail risk into more widely accessible language.
